The location right on the boardwalk overlooking a beautiful cove cannot be beat and may well be worth the drive, especially if you are already in Woody Point or at the tablelands. However, when you show up without a reservation, they make it sound like they are doing you a favour by squeezing you in and then you get lead... More

Thank you for your review. Sorry if you didn't get my "humour". Evidently if we had a large empty room - I could find you a seat. However, we may have had a large number of reserves to arrive. We treat everyone the same - no favours to anyone. Its important to take things more lightly. We are happy you... More

My family had supper in the upstairs, which is nicer than the ground floor. Gorgeous views over the small bay and the food was yummy. Enjoyed nicely cooked halibut and cocktail with local berries. Staff were friendly and kind to the kids. I'd come here again, for sure.

This small family run restaurant is well worth the drive to Trout River. The recommended meal of scallops on rice was excellent. Homemade cloverleaf rolls on the table--yum. Local beer (Quidi Vidi) is served on tap. Dessert of cloudberry cheesecake was best I've had so far. Watching the waves break on the huge rocks from the dining room window a... More

Seaside Restaurant never disappoints, always exceeds our expectations, and is a must-see/go when visiting Gros Morne area! Food is fresh and tasty, and there is plenty of it. Seafood a specialty, and house rolls will take you back to your roots. Service and ambedience are awesome. Owners are onsite and vey hardworking, friendly, and involved too. We will be back!

Thanks for making a return visit to our Seaside Restaurant here in Trout River. We do get a lot of return patrons. Just today, we had folks that visited the area four years ago and had us at the top of their list for their return visit. Cheers, Jenny More

We had a very good seafood meal with a beautiful sunset and guitarist and singer entertaining us. It was a very special dinner and the owner is super service oriented and wait staff attentive. A must do if you are visiting Woody Point or Trout River.

We ate at the Seaside twice in three days and we're pleased both times. The restaurant is clean, well organied and has a great selection of local seafoods. We had the mussels, the scallops, the caplin, salads and all were perfectly prepared and presented. The partridgeberry pie is "to live for". The servers were professional and fun. We felt the... What a find for the first meal of our Newfoundland holiday! We enjoyed a late lunch here...the restaurant was busy, and the ice cream/coffee/take-out area was crammed with an unexpected bus tour arrival...but we still had good service, friendly staff, and we enjoyed the view of the water on a beautiful sunny day. The decor inside is nautical themed, making... More

We happened upon this restaurant before 6 pm and they served us since we were ahead of all the diners who had reserved. It appeared most of the tables were already reserved. The mussels served here were the best tasting of the 3 restaurants we had them in during our NL trip. But they were the smallest. The fresh homemade... More

Yes, some times the "mussels" are small - depends on how early the suppliers harvest them. For the most part this summer, the have been larger and also very yummy. Our "buns" continue to get rave reviews. If your potato and salad wasn't up to your expectation, you should have returned it to the kitchen and we would have replaced... More

The food here was wonderful! The bread to start was obviously home made and so delicious. Pea Soup was very authentic Newfoundland. And my fish platter was cooked just right. The view from the patio is also beautiful and we were lucky enough to watch the sunset from there. The waitstaff were really friendly and apologetic about the wait time.... More

Thank you for your review. As with all restaurants, if it is crazy busy - there will be a "wait time". With respect to 'pricing' we travel extensively & feel that our menu offers great value compared to a lot of places we have explored. Cheers, Jenny More
