We had a good dinner tonight-despite slow service-but we appreciated the attentiveness of our server. We arrived on time for our reservation and were promptly seated. Water and bread arrived from the hostess, Sarah, working on her first night at the restaurant. Our server, whose...name we regret we did not get, was perky and good, and took our order. We really enjoyed the mussels and Brussel sprouts as appetizers. We then had crab cakes and veal Marsala. Neither were listed on the menu but the kitchen produced them easily. There were several wines by the glass that weren’t on the list. Just ask. While not the best meal ever, it was very good, and on a Thursday when everyone was hopping trying to cover a full house, we tipped 20% and felt we left satisfied but not stuffed. We recommend this place. A person staying at our B&B complained it was too expensive for the price. For our standard, it was average in pricing, and good.More
Excellent food, service and wine selection. Would be among the top choices in any city or town. Always leave delighted!
We were passing through Onancock on a weeknight in early April, and there were few restaurants open. We made a reservation at Bizzotto's and arrived at the appointed hour. We placed our orders within 10 minutes or so, and then the wait began. Our entrees...finally arrived over an hour later. In fairness to our server, the problem appeared to be in the kitchen as we could see her checking repeatedly to see if our order was ready. That said, the restaurant was not busy (less than half full), and the entrees we ordered (ravioli and veal picata) were not complicated and should not have taken long to prepare. Our food finally arrived without a word of apology or explanation from our server. Not good. The food itself was fine but not exceptional. We will not be back.More
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Bizotto's. The food was delicious and the wait staff was attentive . At a time when all restaurants seem to be short staffed, we were impressed and had a lovely evening on their pretty patio.
Great birthday dinner, everyone in our group loved their meal. I had the chicken marsala which was excellent.
Stopped by here for a drink, loved the porch setting. The food coming out looked excellent, but we had reservations elsewhere. Maybe next time. Wait staff was very friendly.
Stopped in for lunch and we were glad we did! It was the best Portabella Mushroom burgers I have ever had! Service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. We really enjoyed the artwork on the walls. I don't recall what my husband had to...eat because I was so focused on my sandwich. I also like that I could get a salad instead of fries with no upcharge! We will definitely be back!!More
We were advised to go to Bizzotto’s by our host whose AirBnB we are staying in. We were not disappointed! Despite being nearly the end of the season there were quite a few diners (mostly locals, so you know the food is good, right?) The...place has a great ambience and the staff were super-friendly; quite happy to tailor our order to accommodate food fads. We started on a sharing basis - crab cakes (awesome!), soft shelled crabs and a superb risotto with shrimp (or prawns as we would describe them in the UK!) A dessert of a local coconut cake and the dreamiest crepe brûlée finished off the meal with good coffee. We will absolutely be returning to this gem before we go home. Highly recommended.More
we really enjoyed the wine tasting dinner on Sunday 9/1 good food and wine as well as a friendly and helpful staff. The chef came out to make sure the vegetarian option suited my daughter. I recommend this restaurant
Me and my girlfriend had dinner at Bizzotto's. The food was tasty and well worth the price but unfortunately the service we received was not up to par. My girlfriend was not allowed to taste the wine that she ordered and my food was not...delivered according to my order. The server tried to keep everything in her head but that did not seem to work out very well.More
We ate at Bizzotto's on a very quiet Monday night which took the edge off the atmosphere - service however was welcoming and friendly. We chose the rack of lamb, salmon and the tomato salad. Our food was nicely cooked and presented however other than...an overuse of balsamic oil on every dish there was a distinct lack of flavour. We found this cooking on offer to be too safe and lacking in the creativity and culinary skills we enjoy when eating out. In light of our rather disappointing experience we'd advise that if you like cooking with flair then go elsewhere.More
When in Onancock, we always stop in to Bizzotto's for dinner and have always had wonderful meals. The portions are large but well prepared and delicious. Seafood and duck dishes are my favorites.
White tablecloth dining in very nice setting. Excellent service and variety on dinner menu. Best rack of lamb I've had in USA. Well worth trying. A small town gem
We were recommended to dine here. I should have known something was up when the person recommending advised us to call prior to ensure the air conditioning was working. We never called, and yes, it was broken. we were offered "back deck" seating. Spoiler alert:...it's not actually behind the restaurant. It's behind a shared gravel walkway behind the back of the restaurant. It's marked as private property. If there were other guests present, we wouldn't have known where we were going. We waited for awhile for service. Luckily the humidity was tolerable. There were 2 servers on shift and another gentleman that was helping. I counted 16 guests total on the patio, including us. We were brought tap water (without ice) as we waited and at least one bread plate had a suspicious hair on it. The menu is not Italian; it's an Italian and Asian fusion. The other guests in my party ordered the same recommended liquor drink. The arrived in all sordid states: one was almost all ice, one was unmixed (with sediment stuff in the bottom?) and one was somewhat perishable. The food was incredibly over-portioned. I had the chicken parm and it was decent, warm, and cooked. Way too much pasta. A guest in my party ordered the salmon. It was cut too small and the presentation of the vegetables resembled a small broccoli garden. Maybe it's a nice spot for locals, but if you happen upon it as a traveler, I recommend dining elsewhere.More
