We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner even though they don’t take reservations and you wait for a table with very few waiting seats. Our inexperienced waitress was slower than expected, didn’t bring out our drinks until our meal arrived and never asked if we wanted another. We will likely visit again despite those deficiencies.

We had to wait when we got there… no reservations… however u put your name down and they come get u in the parking lot…. Was raining the day when we were there so didn’t get to enjoy the patio…. But the view from inside the restaurant just as beautiful…. I can’t say enough about the staff so friendly and personable, willing to give u knowledge about the local area…. They will even help the beginner lobster Eating with cracking it… Such a delicious meal and experience for a Fantastic price… when in the area it should be on the top of your list!

Charming little restaurant located between two buildings in a "non-exit" street in a little harbour. The staff was very friendly, the food was good and affordable. We went to eat fresh lobsters and we paid around $32 for 1 1/4-pound lobster, a dessert and a coffee or tea. Important to know: it's a small restaurant so there are only few tables (except that there is a terrace when it's warm enough outside), and it may difficult to find it. Also, the washrooms are outside.

We know that when we arrived here, it wasn't lobster season. But they are still offering them, and they tasted good as freshly-caught lobster! My family shared a 2-lb lobster, but they can offer up to 3 lb lobster. The lobster dinner was absolutely delicious. Their chowder is full of seafood including cod, lobster, salmon, mussels. Very packed with seafood. I did try their fish cakes and it too tastes great! It was cooked with pork scrunchions for that porky taste. Their calamari is also very comparable to those offered in much bigger cities. Overall it was great and while isolated from the town, it's still worth the drive from Twillingate.

This place is a hidden gem. Definitely worth a stop on your way to and from Twillingate. The seafood tastes fresh, and it’s very economical. Tip: Go grab your table during the off-meal times. Otherwise you could be in for a long wait for a table. One time we left just as the dinner rush was beginning. The entire parking lot was full of cars. There were cars parked all the way into the residential area. The line outside was epic. There were tables available, but due to limited kitchen staff, patrons weren’t seated unless staff thought they can turn the table in a reasonable manner.

Spectacular seafood in a charmingly ramshackle building (complete with sun deck) on a lovely cove outside Twillingate. The chowder and fish and chips were fabulous. The snow crab, a local specialty, was the most expensive item on the menu — but well worth the reasonable market price. Our server Janice was charming and helpful — gave us tips on how to conquer the crab! If you love seafood, you’ll love this place. Five stars!

My dad and I arrived there 2 hours before closing time. We were put on a waiting list and asked a couple from Quebec behind us if they wanted to share a table. We had a great evening; all the food was simply delicious, the atmosphere was great and our waitress was a charming newfoundlander. This is a great place to eat after a day of activities and it gives off these perfect, relaxed, authentic seafood restaurant vibes!

We keep coming back year after year because the food, service and atmosphere is second to none. The fish is the brightest white fish I’ve ever seen and perfectly cooked. We celebrate Father’s Day there each year and we just celebrated my Dad’s 86th birthday. Thanks for going above and beyond. The owner always makes her rounds chatting with the customers making you feel welcomed and eager to return.

This restaurant is a small hidden gem. The entrance is deceiving as it is located behind two out-buildings. However when you walk through and enter the dining area you then find yourself on a wharf in the afternoon sun. The kids were entertained by the fish swimming by under the wharf and the macarel scools vibrating the water surface nearby. The staff is super pleasant. Happy to tell tales and point you towards the mist sees in the area. The food is great and we devoured our fish cakes, fish and chips, and lobster. They let the kids check out the lobster pool. Very much worth the small detour off the highway to/from Twillingate.

The perfect place for dinner just outside Twillingate. Delicious scallops and calamari appetizers, and great lobster dinner, which came with choice of salad, drink (non-alcoholic) and dessert. You choose the size lobster you want; I had the 1.5 pound and my husband had the 2 pound. Perfectly prepared, served with garlic butter and when I asked, they also brought me lemon. Rhubarb cake was delicious, too. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a great, casual experience with good servers, right on the water!

This is such a unique place to eat!! The food is delicious and the staff are amazing. Would highly recommend this quaint restaurant. You have the option of eating outside surrounded by salt water or inside where it’s a relaxed atmosphere!!

Get your name on the list as soon as you arrive, then prepare to wait a bit. We arrived at 4:45pm and waited about 30 minutes. Totally worth the wait though. Table enjoyed crab spring roll appetizer and several of the dinner specials, including lobster and scallops. Appreciated it came with a drink, side, and dessert and prices seemed like a good value for amount of food and quality. Would def recommend.

By far the best seafood we had in Newfoundland. Small little shack, don't look like much, but this is true Newfoundland food. There was more seafood in my bowl of chowder than I got from a seafood platter I ordered in St johns. Staff was the most fun of any place we went. No frills!! Just real good food, at real good prices with real good staff. 100%

We actually ate at Sansome's in July 2021, but the post wouldn't let me go back any more than a year ago. Sansome's is a MUST for anyone visiting Central NL. I'm a born and raised Newfoundlander, but I absolutely love doing tourist activities in the province. I loved the entire experience at this restaurant. The seating on the wharf felt like such a unique cultural experience - I loved feeling like we were surrounded by the water. Our waitress was super friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about the cuisine. The table next to us had a large group of people visiting Newfoundland for the very first time, so my parents and I had a wonderful time discussing their itinerary and reactions to such fresh seafood. Cannot recommend this place more1
