We love visiting The Baum, one of the few nice pubs in Rochdale Centre but we were left disappointed on our last visit. We booked a conservatory table for 6, for my daughters 21st - a nice afternoon treat for close family. We were left waiting quite a while for our food (even though the place wasn't at all busy... Went yesterday for a family meal. Was told on arrival there was a 45 minute wait for food so we went spent the time in the beer garden. I decided to have a roast beef dinner. As it turned out I was glad that I was the only one to order it. When it arrived the plate was absolutely floating... More

Heard a lot of good things so decided to try it and felt quite let down the food was mediocre at best although the oldy worldly atmosphere makes up for it x

I have been to The Baum for work do's and recently went for a Sunday tea time. My parents and my husband and I all had the Roast Dinner. The portions were generous and we struggled to finish our meals. We had coffee's afterwards and I had Hot Chocolate which was delicious. Would definitely return.

Had my latest visit to The Baum today, I always like to pop in when I'm in Rochdale. They keep their beers well and there's usually a nice selection. Even in the Summer it was good to see they had a proper dark beer on, as well as a nice selection of other beers. I'd also join the other reviewers... More

Found this by mistake as most places seem to be closed on a Monday in Rochdale. Very good food, good atmosphere and excellent drinks and service. A gem!!

An absolute oasis in a dismal town. Superb real ales and a good choice of local brews. Discount for CAMRA members. Food very good, none better than the pork pies at less than £2 with choice of pickles etc. very good quality. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. A real gem.

If you enjoy good home cooked food coupled with well kept ales than The Baum is the place for you. Rag pudding with fat chips mushy peas and gravy is my recommendation. They have a good selection of soft drinks too for the drivers- try Fentimans Rose Lemonade- a lovely refreshing adult tasting brew
