We travelled up to watch Rochdale play Maidstone (I know), and needed food before the match. The Baum had a good choice of beers, which was a good start, but the steak I had was fab. I don't know whether this is a recognised pre-match pub (or wants to be) but for us, it was just right! Maidstone lost!

We visit the baum often not only because of the large selection of real ales and other drinks but they allow well behaved dogs in which is a big bonus for us. The food is very nice with a good selection of your so called pub grub and specials.the starters or something to share three for a reasonable price are... More

Great selection of real ales - and some decent food too. Friendly staff and good service even when it gets busy.

Great atmosphere, great beer, great food. All that a pub can be. Go in summer to enjoy the beer garden or winter evenings for the food and surroundings

Went for a few drinks and a meal on 29 October 2016. Lots of people in Halloween costume, including staff. We had booked a table which I believe is necessary Fridays and Saturdays. Good selection of wines. Two of us had the chicken peri peri burger from the specials which was great, plenty to eat and the French fries were... More

Absolutely lovely place, a little gem in the middle of a not so nice area - very quirky. The food was very good for the prices they charged and the staff good fun too. I took my friend Mrs Baum (her real name) and they gave her a free glass as a souvenir. Dx

Went here for breakfast today. My first shock was that it was just shy of £20 for two breakfasts and a pot of tea for two. When the pot of tea arrived it was half full and we just managed to get a cup out of it each. The breakfast arrived and looked ok but was tepid apart from the... More
