Nice place to eat, the food was good, not excellent, but good. The service was fast and the waiter was polite. I ordered the prawn shichimi and would recommend it. Would come back again.

Our first Japanese meal and what a surprise ! Don't be put off by decor as its rather dull as the food is amazing ! The portions were huge and we both struggled to finish. I had a mixed fish dish for mains with teriyaki salmon, monkfish and tuna..will definitely be back

Just an occasional visit as a couple we love the sushi here, the fish tastes so tender and fresh. The staff are Friendly and very helpfull. It's nice and peaceful here. We even ordered noodles mid meal and it came out in less than 10 minutes, very impressed highly recommend.

The restaurant has a lovely smart but comfy interior. The service is quick and the staff helpful if you can't make up your mind! We have been a few times now and had a mixture of the sushi, the hot meals and the starters and it has all been delicious. The sushi in particular is probably the best I have... More

Needed a quiet place to meet up with a very good friend, hence came to Wilmslow instead of the convenient Manchester branch. Reservation online was simple. The restaurant was peaceful. As my friend is not familiar with Japanese food I ordered a few more starters and a sushi platter before having a main dish of ramen for him and eel... More

Had the deluxe mix of sushi, sashimi, nori rolls. Was delicious. Plenty of wasabi and pickled ginger. Partner had chicken sashchini with sticky rice. Again was lovely but not wow. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was excellent for price and will be definitely going back. Service was very friendly and as we went early we parked right outside the restaurant!

We arrived into an empty restaurant and were seated immediately. The other waiter brought menus in few moments and without greeting us handed those away. After a short time we ordered drinks and got them in a while. Not long after that we ordered the food - starters and mains. Considering there were only 2 tables occupied, the dishes took... More

Been to Samsi many times.. Unsure to be honest if I can confidently recommend as service is hit and miss. Unfortunately the place is lacking any decent atmosphere since the old manager left. Food is off good quality, most of the time.. just consistently miss items off you ordered or do silly things like give you squeezy soy sauce bottles... More

Went on a Saturday evening with my father. Service was very polite and professional and food equally perfect. Would definitely recommend this place. The sushi was great and was a very pleasant experience all round for a reasonable price!

SAMSI has been trading for 19 years in April, specialising in Japanese cuisine and food stuff. It began as an award-winning restaurant, which quickly expanded into four different cities in the North west of England. In response to customer request we began importing and selling ingredients in retail sizes while continuing to search Japan for the highest quality restaurant ingredients.
