Good but i'm not comfortable eating stolen food! The meal was nice in all fairness but that poor lamb stolen at a tender and young age was extremely concerning. I fear for all young lambs out there, stay safe folks! Otherwise tasted great, highly recommend it!

I love this place, the food is absolutely delicious I like the halloumi starter and the mixed grill skewers for a main. The food is really good here. It's pretty expensive but it's perfect for special occasions a just for a nice treat.

I've eaten at the Stolen Lamb several times over the past year both with family and friends. I am always warmly welcomed and leave having thoroughly enjoyed my food and great service. I highly recommend the mezze especially the mystical mezze on a Tues night where for £20 you inform the waiter of anything you don't like and are then... More

We have often passed by this establishment since it opened, and wondered what delights lay in wait should we ever visit - as we are very fond of Greek cuisine. In the event we went as a group to celebrate a family Birthday, it was booked in advance for a Friday evening at 7:30pm. They were confused as to which... More

The front entrance takes you up the stairs to a lovely decorated reataurant and bar. We decided on the Mezze menu at £28.95 which was a good choice of traditional dishes but with a modern twist. The greek wines are a must with the food so don't be swayed by the old flavours of Restina Makedonikos White and Rose are... More

We have been to the stolen lamb numerous times in the past. The difference between when it opened and now is like night and day. The service, which used to be quick, polite and attentive is now the opposite. I'm not sure calling the customers "mate" constantly is what I'd expect. When we went the restaurant was more or less... Last night myself and a group of friends visited the Stolen Lamb- it was fab! We had delicious food and wine. We shared a number of starter dishes which were great. They included houmous, dolmades and pitta. We all had different souvlaki for our mains which were so tasty. A great find and another visit definitely needed!

We visited last weekend, whilst the food was lovely, tasty and well presented, it was unfortunate the length of time everything took that was the problem. It wasn't particularly busy, there were 2 waiting staff and one running food, plus the owner. However, everything just took far too long. From waiting to order, drinks being delivered, for food to arrive... More

Called in for an impromptu evening dinner at 7pm. Not a soul in... Such a shame. Welcomed and seated at a lovely table. Excellent friendly service. Gin n tonic and beer ordered and meal chosen. Good variety on the menu. Moussaka and a veggie choice. Really lovely. Oh and not to forget the pitta hummus and sausage starter. Nicest hummus... More

Description
The signature dish of Cyprus - Kleftiko literally means "stolen lamb”. The story goes that the "Greek Kleftes," Bandits who hid in the mountains, would sometimes steal a lamb for food. They cooked it sealed tightly on a buried pit of coals to keep a low profile, and not give away their hideout by sight and smell. My paternal Grandfather 'George' was known for his Lamb and Goat rearing in Famagusta, Cyprus. His Farm produced milk to make the famous Cypriot cheese Halloumi and his lambs were a treat to eat. The Restaurant will continue to use the finest local produce specializing in Cheshire Lamb.My maternal Grandfather, also called George, was famous for cooking the signature dish, in both his village of Kyrenia Cyprus where he was taught, and continues now in Manchester. We will be using the same recipe to cook the dish here at the restaurant. (We are lucky as his recipes are unique and he keeps them close to his heart). The restaurant embraces old Family recipes combined with new style to offer the ultimate Greek Dining Experience. Our cooking methods include, using a traditional wood-fired clay oven and a coal fired BBQ to give the full flavour to our food.Chef George & the team
