A very civilised dining experience accompanied with live background piano music. The menu serves either Table de Hote or Ala Carte menus along with an extensive Wine List.. We selected from the Table de Hote menu which was very good but you did tend to "waddle" from the table afterwards - suggest you stick to the Ala Carte if you... More

Stayed for 2 nights, very enjoyable. Food always lovely here. Went into Wilmslow on second day, hotel receptionist, very helpful giving local information. Staff friendly and efficient. Bedrooms clean.

Stanneylands used to have a good reputation for food, so I was especially disappointed on my last visit. I dropped in for lunch with my mother and found that the restaurant was no longer open for lunch, but we could eat in the bar. No problem. I chose salmon and my mother chicken and mushroom pie. Big mistake! The salmon... More

We, a group of 35 friends, held our annual St George's charity dinner in the Oak Room on Wednesday 20th April. The traditional meal was really good and beautifully served. The organisation of the event by Katie Hewitt was first class and the service by Mark and the restaurant staff was excellent. Not forgetting the chef, who did us proud!... More

I was lucky enough to eat here on a business networking event! The food and service was absolutely amazing! We were all delighted with it and cleared our plates. It's usually easy not to over eat on networking lunches as the food is often basic, but it was impossible to leave any of what we were served. I was told... More

Lunch party for 60 people, which was handled perfectly by the events team, who were most helpful at all times. The new General Manager and the Food and Beverages Manager were both very much 'hands on' and helped create a wonderful atmosphere. All the guests commented on the excellence of the service and quality of the food. We stayed for... More

Christmas Day 2015, lunch. Chaotic organisation. Food terrible: factory canteen style; a disgrace especially considering the high Christmas rip-off price. Service: unprofessional with scruffy inadequately trained staff. This used to be a good place. Pity it has changed for the worse.

We came to The Stanneylands for a huge family lunch after my grandmother's funeral last week; and despite the very sad occasion we had a fantastic lunch at The Stanneylands Hotel. We were warmly welcomed by Eammon, the general manager, who took our coats upon arrival and led us through to the bar where a very much needed glass or... More

My partner and I visited for afternoon tea mid week. It was not too busy and we had a pleasant table. The lovely lady looking after the table was easily coping and all was relaxed. The food itself was served nicely and there was enough but not over generous. The scones tasted bought in and the strawberry jam was not... More
