I've now visited quite a few times with both friends and family for lunch and evening meals. The food is consistently good quality, seasonal and of the highest standard, matched with the service. Would highly recommend.

We didn't book & nearly regretted it, they squeezed us in & it was a treat. We had a roast lamb & pork diner - you cannot go wrong! Meat was lovely & tender, yorkie pudd great & amazing gravy! We will be back, & will book first to make sure we don't miss out!

The food here is very good and the staff are first class. Parking can be a problem as the place is very popular.River views whilst having a beer sitting on the river bank.(if the weather is good )

My boyfriend and I went to the Hope & Anchor last weekend for a spot of lunch. We were lucky enough to have some of the best weather of the year and thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside with a pint of cider looking at the river, before retreating in to sit in the conservatory for lunch. We both had a cheese... More

Really good pub food when we met up with Madge and Ron. Food was really good and the accompanying salad was imaginative and very tasty. Would recommend this to any visitors.

Many years since we've been here. Very good, welcoming pub and restaurant, in a unique location, with views of the adjacent river, from the garden and the conservatory. Nice staff, good menu, food quality excellent, and very generous servings. Decent wine, and very well-kept hand-pulled beer. Nice job Hope & Anchor, and decent pricing too. Highly recommended!

Ate here with a friend the other lunch time. The pub is a fairly unpretentious place, located on the banks of the River Ouse; opposite Blacktoft sands. They do a decent range of real ales and the food is decent and very reasonably-priced. Plenty of dishes for a tenner or less. We both had the Lasagne which was nice and... More

We have visited many times and have never been disappointed our last visit was on Sunday for lunch. I would recommend you book as it is always busy . The roast beef Sunday lunch is beautiful although the menu does offer other options . The brandy snap fruit filled basket is delicious. We arrived a bit early but we where... More

Friends and I have used this restaurant regularly over the last few years and the food has always been good although not quite as good as when we first started. However today a friend and I went and were very disappointed. Normally at least four of us go but two were unable to make it. My friend ordered the steak... More
