First-rate fish, chips and service

We've been coming here for at least a decade now, and can honestly say it serves up first-rate fish and chips with incredible consistency. We've been to some "award winning" chippies in places like Whitby, and while they're pretty good, in terms of quality of frying, portion size and price the Ladygrove FB has them beat. The staff are always cheerful too.

They remember me and what I usually order, which is a nice touch, and shows they care about their customers. A strange thing to say as it probably a plus, but the chip portions are very big so I usually avoid them as I won't be able to finish them ( a smaller portion would suit me). A minor niggle is that the saveloys sometimes are bit beyond their best. Overall though, a great takeaway with good food and a friendly and personal service

Excellent fish and chip shop! Always a very polite service, run by lovely people. Very lucky to have this as my local chippy. Shame they dont open the restaurant as well, but can't have everything.

Absolute dive

This is hands down the one of the worst fish and chip shops I’ve EVER been to. The chips were so soggy and floppy that it was like trying to perform open heart surgery with a teaspoon. I picked up the battered sausage and it was dripping with grease. The batter was tough and chewy, not crispy as it should be. And to top it all off it was all hotter than the surface of the sun. All round unpleasant experience.

Beautiful food , and great customer service experience, very friendly staff , first rate as it was our first time visiting the chip shop , will definitely be going back there again .

Dried out fish and Ridiculously expensive

Fish was all dried out and for two large cod and small portion of chips £19.50 absolutley high way robbery. seems to have gone down hill will not be visting again,

Ridiculously expensive!

No real problem with the quality of the fish and chips, but £10 for a medium size cod and small portion of chips- really expensive! I won't be visiting again.

Best fish and chips in Didcot. Right in the Ladygrove estate with parking just outside. Fish are very good portions and the large chips take some finishing.

Disappointed

Placed my order, got home to find no fish!!!! Took it all back, waited for more fish to be cooked, asked for mushy peas as an after thought and was charged for it, got home no relish on the burger. Chips looked and tasted like yesterdays , fish very, very dry and burger tasteless!

Had cod and chips. All very good and freshly cooked. Portion sizes very generous, so no need to order large chips. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
