I visited the shajan with my partner son and mother in-law for my birthday. it was a Thursday night and it was really busy both sitting in and takeaways. Even though we didn't book we was seated very quickly. Straight away we were asked if we would like to order drinks and some appetizers to start with. These came with... More

The Shajan is always busy and it is easy to see why. Tasty meals, served in a timely manner. The staff are attentive and friendly. The proprietor is often patrolling to ensure his patrons are having a happy time. If you haven't tried their lamb dishes: do.

I visited the Shajan last night for the first time in about a year. I had the same food as last time, but it was not as good. My Lamb Sag was quite hot, but neither as flavoursome nor as tender as last time. Service was fine and friendly. Wine by the glass was not as cheap as elsewhere nor... More

Been to the Shajan twice now and both times have been equally disappointing. The staff are beyond rude and very unhelpful. Second time we went in a large group some of the orders were wrong which we understood with having 11 people in our group however we all ordered starters and then 25 mins later was asked if we wanted... It had been about a year since I last visited the Shajan, but I don't know why I'd left it so long! It was a bank holiday Monday and I'm glad I had the foresight to book a table. As we arrived we were offered to go straight to the table or have a drink in the bar, we chose... More

Wanting to get together with the family over Easter, we decided to visit the Shajan. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and professional. Dishes were cleared promptly and the next course delivered soon afterwards. It was very busy but the staff were obviously used to this and we couldn't fault them. Very likely to visit again.

We came for an early meal, 5:30pm couldn't believe how busy it was. We have been coming to this restaurant now for over 30 years. The food is always excellent, we call frequently for a takeaway. We could not fault the service, as always the food was out if this world, if it was carling you could say probably the... More

Visited for a mates birthday as part of a large group. Was very busy when we arrived which is always a good sign. We were quickly shown to our table and our orders taken. Service was excellent despite being busy which is always a worry. Food was very nice, I had the Chicken Shahee. The bill was very reasonable as... More

We offer authentic, quality Indian Cuisine in Blackburn, Lancashire. Established in 1992 we have an unrivaled reputation for both quality and customer care. Whether you're looking for a venue for your next special occasion or quality Indian food - you'll always find a fast, friendly service waiting for you.Set in the picturesque Ribble Valley the Shajan is an award-winning restaurant. It started off as a small business holding only 96 customers. However its popularity lead to its gradual expansion over the years and it is now able to accommodate up to 205 customers. The restaurant itself is split into 3 rooms enabling it to cater for private parties and large functions without losing its intimacy or atmosphere. Its modern decor, luxurious setting and spacious car park have attracted a wide range of customers including celebrities, some of which arrive in helicopters. The chefs' come from all over South Asia, so the restaurant is able to offer a varied cuisine, and the large number of regular South Asian customers is a testament to the foods authenticity. We believe the restaurant's reputation is our best accolade as it is built purely on word of mouth. The Shajan's emphasis on quality, customer service and above all its continual drive for improvement, have all lead to its success.
