I live close by. I've visited enough times now to know the service, whether busy or quiet is slow! Last three visits I've been told the specials have just been served to others!! Getting a bit old now - still advertised by staff and on the board but this is in fact the fifth time this has happened to me.... More

Although the food itself was good, the service was incredibly slow for there only to be 4 tables on the cheque board. 2 hour visit for only 2 courses...and we didn't bother with dessert as our plates failed to be cleared for 30 mins whilst the lady in charge chatted to another table and other staff seemed to be stood... Sunday lunch at the oyster and otter was lovely. The roast lamb was cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire pudding and gravy too. No space for dessert on this occasion as the main course were generous. My only critique would be that the roast potatoes weren't the best, very hard and chewy but it didn't detract from an overall lovely... More

Really nice restaurant, lots of lovely touches in the decor, food was great, on the pricier side for a pub but very tasty and good ingredients

Just got back from the oyster an otter , 3rd visit an will defiantly return, won't be leaving it too long next time. Menu isn't too big which I find perfect so you know it's made fresh, there is something for everybody, and the specials are amazing, staff are fantastic an made the evening more pleasurable. Personally people would say... More

I visit the Oyster and Otter quite regularly with it being not too far from my house and I am never disappointed with the service or food! They have some great mid week deals on recently! Definitley worth a try x

We were a bit put off by the location in the middle of a residential area but the food and service made up for the lack of view. We went for the £10.50 lunch option - a very tasty fish finger (nothing like Captain Birdseye's) sandwich with a glass of wine. Good value.

This restaurant also does a takeaway service. I have ordered fish and chips several times and I have to say that it has been a bit hit and miss. On three occasions I rang up several hours in advance with an order, specifying a time only to get there and the order not being ready. Staff were not that bothered.... More

Went for simple fish and chips. The fish was undercooked and looked yellow. There were hardly any chips. Won't go back again

Visited as a couple on a Saturday night. It was quite busy and had a pleasant atmosphere. We were shown our table within 10 minutes of arriving but that was great as we were early. The service was great (very fast and attentive). I had wild mushroom ravioli and fish pie. It was the nicest fish pie I've ever had.... More
