this pub is closed and therefore impossible to rate at this time. a very old pub, next to the small railway station. hopefully it will re-open soon as it seems a nice typical village pub.

No-one seems to have mentioned that this place has been closed for many a long month. So sad as it once was a great place to visit. Now looking sad and neglected and verging on dereliction. Just wish someone would buy it and turn it into a great pub again. It is in a good location and has a good... More

Totally dead when we went in but could be to do with the change of management and a temporary closure.

The service and the food served to me and my party was terrible. There were 24 of us and the way we were pushed together was uncomfortable. Some of my party ordered mushroom soup (I think the mushrooms had walked through the soup on stilts) it was watery and just to add insult was served in dishes with pieces of... More

I learned after our visit in Dec 2013 that the business has recently changed hands. As sad as it is to see a new owner struggling I have to be honest and say that the food wasn't great, the place was short- staffed, several menu options weren't available and the place looks generally unkempt and tatty. We hadn't been for... More

Quite a large modern pub, which probably accounted for the temperature being quite low (except the tiny hallway to the toilet which was a great comfort zone...although having to excuse yourself to use it may seem peculiar to your friends after a while..). Main meal of scampi and chips was decent enough... the dessert on the other hand (eton mess)... More

Was told chef had switched everything off when we arrived at 7.55 pm and could we order asap - this despite going into the restaurant the previous night to pick up a menu and being persuaded by a member of staff to book the meal provisionally for the following night ! Incidentally when ringing to confirm the booking was told... More

we visited New Years Eve lunch time with a large family group. It was very cold, we waited a long time for the lunch although they had very few other customers. Tables very bare, no condiments (this was a pre booked party). Wedges served instead of chips and were only warm, very small portion of veg served on most meals.... More

We have eaten here before without a problem. Our last visit however was a different story it was awful. I ordered off the Sunday lunch menu and chose the fish. My partner had had this in the past and it was always well presented and cooked well. My partner ordered the roast beef. When the main courses arrived it was... More
