Nice Sunday lunch. Reasonable value with 2 courses at £17.50. We had deliciously tender beef the veg was a bit undercooked but the flavours were good. Nice crumble for dessert. Service was good. The restaurant area has expanded to nearly all the floor space of the pub. Watch out for the price of drinks. The measure of a pint of... More

Another find of Nigel Haworth and well worth the visit. Set in the picturesque village of Pleasington and a family outing, a birthday treat this truly was - the staff were faultless, very welcoming and helpful. Food lived up to my expectation (another of the Nigel Haworth of Northcote Manor fame) the dilemma being which of the exciting menu to... More

Reasonable Sunday menu, 2 courses for £17.50 or 3 for £21. A good variety of choices to choose from and the food was delicious and freshly prepared. I went for a friends birthday and we ordered an array of food choices between us of which nobody had any complaints. Favourites included the cauliflower fritters and mini sausages to start, the... excellent food, slightly on the pricey side but well worth it. The cheese and onion pie was the best i have ever tasted. Only down side was the service - we asked the waiter for ketchup 3 times other than that fab meal! Would definitely recommend!

Lovely atmosphere nice wood burning fires. Tables nicely spaced. Sunday lunch choice was good although not my taste in starters so opted for a lovely pudding instead. The mixed roast was lovely

Having been here before several years ago and as we were staying in the area, it was too good an opportunity to miss so we went one evening midweek without booking. We didn't have any problem finding a table but I suspect if we had arrived 30 minutes later,we may have been disappointed. Needless to say,the food was superb and... More

Not been here in about a year after a couple bad meals, but they have upped their game now and it's back to being top notch food again, anyone who stopped going like I did and several friends I know should head back! Recomend the squid, ribs, chipolatas and rib eye steak with peppercorn ;-)

Visited mid August on a Friday night. Place very busy as expected. Our food was very good but the kitchen seemed badly disorganised on the night. We ordered as the neighbouring table of two were finishing their starters, our starter arrived (very good) and then our mains but our neighbours were still waiting. They complained - two mains arrived, one... More

The Clog and Billycock is situated just a short drive from Blackburn in Pleasington, one of the most picturesque areas in Lancashire. So, like every real Lancashire village, it needs a pub full of Lancashire tradition and fantastic hospitality.

Steeped in all the history you might expect of a rural treasure & originally known as the Bay Horse Inn, the pub now takes its name from clogs and the billycock which were the favourite attire of a landlord who took over in the early 20th century… and somehow the idea stuck.
