Only drive up here if you're very confident in narrow one way steep roads. Otherwise get a taxi. But it's worth it. Lovely food, excellent wine and good service. But it's the view you're really coming for. We had the luck to have a cuckoo singing in the forest behind. How much more Swiss could you get?

Park your Michelin-starred attitude for an evening. This is a rustic establishment located in a remote area - typical of grottos in Ticino. The cuisine is simple - like eating at grandma's house. The view from the terrace tables is unparalleled!! Who knows how long grottos will survive in the current economy? Partake of this traditional experience while you can.... More

Wow!!!! It's a good drive up a steep, narrow mountain road but you are rewarded but an absolutely amazing view overlooking Lago Maggiore. We had booked a table (recommended - we went on a Monday at 6pm and the restaurant was full by 7pm - Friday was even busier). The food is authentically Italian and makes a refreshing change from... Ate twice at the Osteria, once with a group of 6 friends and then as a couple. Fabulous view, family owned and operated osteria, splendid food, and lovely people. We'll continue to return and recommend - the risotto is special, and the roast pork was the best in Switzerland! Thanks to the family!

Only go there, if you are not afraid to drive on narrow, winding mountain roads ... cause you will. But it's worth it

We spent a couple of days in Brissago at the Lago Maggiore. We ended up going there twice. I have no idea how they do it; everything we tasted had this home-made character to it with a lot of flavor. We had the Goat and Veal and tried both the Risotto Borei and Risotto Funghi as a side and also... More

We were a bit dissapointed after our walk up the hill. The reception was poor and not professionel. After waiting long for something to drink it took even longer for the average food. The place is quite nice and has a bit of a view, but we and our friends were not really impressed. Prices are ok but overall it... More
