Cosy french brasserie atmosphere... almost... for this centrally-located restaurant. Their beer vats are right there in the dining room, and you should try one of each: blond, weiss, ale. Lots of cheese dishes as you might expect but also some brasserie-type foods too (souris d'agneau for example) as well as lots of salads for a better-that-average price. Had a lovely... More

Good for a local Chateau d'0ex restaurant nothing astonishing small menu but open nearly all the time. Not a bad simple solution to not straying far from the village.

We stopped of at Chateau-d'Oex intending to do some walking through town. Very quaint and nice. The restaurant was recommended by the lady at the SBB info booth at the station; which was a short walk through the main street. Unfortunately, the service was lackluster and the hostess took a long time before I had to walk to her to... More

We visited the restaurant the week-end of the children's festival (5 adults and 6 kids) and were very badly served, no smile from the waitress, just a sigh when she saw how many kids we had, never offered a high chair for the baby. She forgot our order so we waited over an hour for 2 burgers and 3 nuggets... More

After a day of hiking stopped here for a late lunch. Ambience was nothing special, quite ordinary outdoor cafe style. Service was friendly enough. But the plate of smoked meats and sausages (earthy and garlicy) served over some of the most delicious stewed sauerkraut was outstanding. Perfect for a casual meal.

we ate cheese fondue that was very good, but unfortunately without garlic, and potatoes. Pleasant staff and service, good wine, proper budget.

Always visit here when I am in the village of Chateau D'Oex. They have their own micro brewery, which is different, and their beer is excellent. The staff are very friendly and speak English! I like the food here and can recommend the fillet of perch with fries. There is also a salad bar. It can get quite busy after... More

We usually try different places on different nights in our trips. In Chateaux D'oex we ventured into the Brasserie de l'Ours on our first night, loved it and returned twice more! The food is varied with plenty of local specialities on offer, including racclette and fondue. There is also a range of meat and fish dishes, all portions being very... More

This restaurant is clean, even with tablecloths in the evening .The staff friendly and helpful and understand enough English to deal with allergies without problem. The menu has a variety of dishes , plentiful portions and very tasty. The steaks were tender and cooked to our requirements. Puddings and starters were ample and varied. The place was crowded out on... More
