Delicious Italian and seafood!

We enjoyed my birthday dinner here and it was quite delicious! The baked provolone with fresh bread was great, the seafood pasta was loaded with clams, mussels, a few shrimp and squid. The waiters spoke English, French and Spanish and were attentive and responsive. The space is a bit small so you’ll likely be eating closely to others, hopefully not with loud children like us.

Early birds get front tables

La Gritta occupies a premier position on the main square in Cadaqués, facing its harbour. Service was was both prompt and friendly. The Vitello Tonnato one of us ordered was the most generous helping ever and also very tasty. Sopa Peix (Fish Soup) was as good as you'd get anywhere. Escalopa de Pollastre (chicken escalope) was adequate while Orada Planxa (whole sea bream) was mouth-wateringly good. Total bill for two, including a bottle of the local Perafita Picapoll, came to only €66.70 -- an absolute bargain!

A good option in the off season

The food was really quite nice, the service, not so much, first time I have ever ordered a bottle of wine and was not shown the lable. When I was able to look at the lable, it was not the wine I ordered. The spinach salad was really fantastic, the pizza was well received and the seafood pasta was nice too. Due to the off-season, the restaurant was relatively quiet, a rare find.

Tasty pizza

After a week in Spain we were looking for a simple meal and this was the perfect spot. We had a salad to start ,easily enough for two to share, an American pizza and a capriicosa plus 1/2 litre of house red and a bottle of water. Felt good value at €35. We sat on the terrace at the front overlooking the main square it was busy a good mix of locals and tourists.

Good food/good value

My husband had the ravioli and said it was great. I had the carbonara and it was also really good. Food came out piping hot - which is always nice. We sat outside and it was lovely watching the boats! The onlything lacking is the service could be better. When we went to pay, we couldn't find the waitress and then looked in the restuarant and she was sitting at a table. Need to work on that a bit !

Decent Italian food in Cadaques

We chose this place after walking around in Cadaques looking for an affordable place to eat, and thankfully, the food was pretty good here too, nothing to write home about, but not bad either. Service was okay -- it took a while for our dishes to come out. We sat outside on the patio, view was great, and the place filled up quick for lunch. Gazpacho was good, as was the grilled fish and the crema catalan. Ordered a pitcher of sangria. All in all, a pretty good place to opt for if you're in Cadaques.

Great food & fast service!

Great food and fast service, I visited 3 times during my stay and I was never disappointed. Total consistency in it’s standards and was a favourite in Cadaqués. Spaghetti Bolognese is delicious! Along with the fish and menu of the day options. Would return to place in the future.

Great food our group of 4 went twice during our walking trip in the area. Had pizza pasta and lamb dishes all good friendly host and good service.

Great value and good food!

This place is right off the main square and you get the sea breezes while you eat. We had the Menu #2 which included an appetizer, main course, dessert and a drink- we chose sangria . We were surprised at the size of the appetizers- basically were like full servings! The fish soup was sooo good. Plus we had the spaghetti pesto and the avocado/tomato salad. All of them were big and flavorful. For the main I chose the roast chicken- it was huge and super tender. My sister ordered the same. My husband haf the fresh sea bass and said he'd order it again. For dessert we all had our favorite- creme de la Catolan. All in all great meal and good value. One thing to make note of...the outside seating can be very crowded..but it's worth it!

Good pizza place

Good place to grab a pizza or beer when in town. It's not a place I am craving to come back to but I had a good meal and enjoyed dinner there.

Loved this place after a day of traveling to Cadaqués. Excellent herbed stuffed ravioli with eggplant, tomato and cheese. Thin, thin and crusty pizza.

Customer service skills required

We felt that although the food was very good, the service wasn’t, 3 couples entered after us and got served well before us, we had to ask twice for our bottle of wine and when it came! I had to ask for wine glasses. It’s a Shame the order wasn’t taken as quick as our bill was given.
