Why? I’m upset because this place has been there for how long and I didn’t know about it? We were told about this from a friend and decided to stop on our way back home from NoVA. As self-described pizza enthusiasts, we always like to try out different pizza spots and rank them. This pizza was phenomenal with fresh ingredients…meaning they chopped them and didn’t use processed chicken (and they didn’t skimp on them). We got a cheese pizza and the Annie Oakley…it had such a good mixture of flavors. Next time I might ask for it to be cooked a little longer as we like a slightly crispier crust. There were two things that pushed me over the edge with this restaurant though… 1. They sell their ranch dressing. THANK YOU!!!!! I hate when restaurants hoard a good thing…sell it! Thank you. 2. They had big glorious hunks of pound cake at the register (with icing). (Queue the praise music). OMG…it was AMAZING. I knew I had to get a piece because it was winking at me when I was checking out. I’m so glad I did. Lastly, the staff was super friendly. I happened to interact with three separate people and each one of them was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

I have driven by this area for years and just discovered this restaurant today. It is in a very rural location but has a very cosmopolitan feel. The food was amazing. We had a half and half pizza with the Humble Pie on one half and the Cheeseburger Pizza on the other. This was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The toppings were amazing, and there were plenty of them. My husband and I split the ice cream sandwich for dessert which was also amazing. I highly recommend this for a anyone passing by the Crossroads Market area on Route 29 South. It’s also worth a special trip to try it out. The menu is varied and has sandwiches, salads and vegetarian and vegan options.

WOW…. Really good food here!! While in the area for work a group of us came in on a weekday for a late lunch. The server was great, friendly, helpful and had an incredible memory (as she never wrote our orders down, but got them perfect!)!! They have an excellent menu, loaded with pizzas, salads, sandwiches, etc. The place smelled so incredible, like amazing pizza that I had to order a Stromboli. Be aware, their Stromboli is HUGE! Their ranch dressing is outstanding! So, I had to get a small side salad to start so I could enjoy some. The Stromboli came with a small amount of ranch and a small amount of tomato sauce to dip the crust into. Their crust is great and the slightly charred parts were really tasty. The inside was incredible and it was stuffed and loaded with the toppings I requested. Overall, this place has some AMAZING food and I’ll definitely be back!

As always we had an excellent meal. Every time I stop I think this had to be the best pizza place in Virginia and perhaps one of the best restaurants in Virginia. My wife and I split the shaved beet salad that was awesome. The homemade cheese sticks followed, with the house made marinara and ranch accompaniments. Our pizza choice for the night was the Heavy Hand. The kids and us loved it. The pity is we live over an hour away so this is a special treat when traveling through the Charlottesville area. Highly recommended.

It was ready when they said it would be ready. They provide a picnic area outside so that you can enjoy onsite. It was all as it should be. The key is the crust. It has perfect chew to it. After visiting a few wineries or orchards, this is a great place to eat a late lunch and spend time with friends.

We were at Flying Fox winery (highly recommend!). Stumbled upon this place for lunch. Not too far off Rt 29 or 64. We walked in and, you know how you can smell the food cooking and you know it’s going to be great? This is that place! We ordered the Italian sub and the meatball sub. Both were authentic, house made and scrumptious! We, ok-I, was looking at each dish going by. Everything looked so good!! I can’t wait to go back! Next time, I’ll save room for that Humble Apple crumble!!!

Dr. Ho's is on route 29 so it is convenient for north or southbound traffic south of Charlottesville. I had one of the best strombolis ever, and the pizza was excellent as well. Waitress was efficient and kept drinks refilled. There are enough menu selections available to please just about anyone.

I really enjoy seeing the history of places when I travel and Dr. Ho's is located in a building that was build around 1820. That means that it's about as historical as stuff gets in the USA! Oh, do you like ranch? If the answer is yes, then do yourself a favor and buy a jar... or two. Their ranch dressing is so so good. So whether you get their namesake pizza or venture off to enjoy burritos or other items from their slightly random menu, make sure to get some ranch and you won't regret it!

I drive over an hour to get pizza here. I also pass by it continually on the way up north on 29 and would highly recommend getting dessert and wine at Crossroads Store. I have tried almost every specialty pie they have. I can't pick a favorite--they're all good. I'm partial to vegetables and the Buff Orphington was refreshingly different (I also tried on a homemade pie). I will continue to try everything here. They have gluten-free and vegan options and local beer. It's my favorite pizza in Virginia so far. I work all over the Commonwealth.

Heard great things about Dr. Ho's. Had been there 20 years ago and it was good. Didn't know they were still in business. So we drove 45 minutes to check it out again. Pizza had good flavor, however toppings were very skimpy. I'd have to give it a B- because of that. We were expecting a "wow" from the reviews. It was just ok.

Excellent food, exceptional service, and many varied options. We overheard someone talking about Dr Ho’s and when we needed dinner we decided to stop in. I’m glad we did! They have an array of fun and whimsically named pizzas, as well as sandwiches and salads. A solid beer and wine list also.

Dr. Ho's is crazy busy on the weekends so order to-go or sit at the bar if you don't feel like waiting. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat and ordered apps. and dessert. Everything was good except the dessert to-go was missing the ice cream and I wasn't a fan of the burnt caramel topping. But just left that off... Still - we would come back!

Second stop here while traveling through the area. The wood fired pizza is fantastic. Many options and although some feel it a a bit pricey, the quality is worth it. Mediterranean salad also good. Will be back on future visits.

We love it every time we go. We drive over an hour to get to Saunders Brothers Orchard and Dr. Ho’s. We have never been disappointed! Starters? Large and excellent. Salads? Delish. Pizzas? Way too hard to decide what to get! Dessert? Who gets dessert after a giant meal? Everyone should at Dr. Ho’s. Great staff and great food. They care for their people like family as demonstrated during COVID. Don’t miss out.
