I booked a table for 4 to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday and her 24th anniversary. We arrived on time and were seated at a nice large table near the window. The staff were attentive from the start and when I mentioned the birthday girl...they were even more eager to please. The food was excellent, the wine delicious and the background music enjoyable. The highlight of the night was a beautiful version of The Power of Love that reduced my friend to tears of happiness. We will definitely go here again.More

The restaurant interior was cheerfully decorated for Christmas with a lovely Xmas tree, and the staff friendly. The usual menu is extensive (with quite a few options for vegetarians, one reason we selected the place) and it also had a Christmas set menu plus a...Chef’s recommendation menu - neither of which had anything suitable for vegetarians. We had minestrone soup which consisted mainly of small carrot pieces in a watery stock, followed by fettuccine with asparagus, dried tomato, and rocket leaves. The meager thin slithers of asparagus would not have amounted to even one small asparagus stick. The brownie with ice cream was the best part of the meal and that was only average. Definitely expensively disappointing and not worth the money. The last time we went there a few months ago it was not as good as it has been over the years when it was good and this time it was worse - trending downwards.More

Return visit. Great menu choice, food super tasty and service excellent. Caters for all food likes. The resturant owners really focus on your experience. It’s not a cheap resturant but the menu choice is vast and it’s a really enjoyable experience.

I have been here many times. They had 25th anniversary and offered pizza for 5e. This time it was not worth any more. Dry, tasteless and super hardy. Worst was that knives where almost unusable. All of them. When inviting people with lower price you...should make them happy to come again. Now they will not. Atmosphere very nice.More

A group of 14 of us enjoyed a drive to Mijas to Da Bruno where we were treated to a fabulous meal and service by Giancarlo and his staff. A prosecco aperitif followed by starters of mussels or salad, a main course of a very...tasty Saltimocca or Lubina with Penne as an option. Sweets consisted of a huge portion of apple strudel or luscious crepes with an orange sauce. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch and many thanks to Giancarlo and his staff. Highly recommended and we will return.More

I had always wanted to eat at this place because it has a good reputation. I went with friends for an evening meal. Atmosphere was good, we sat in a lovely little courtyard and there was a singer. Attention was pretty quick, we had drinks...very quickly and our order was taken promptly.. I would say the food was average to good. Nicely presented, the salad was fantastic, starters were all complimented by everyone . The main course received mixed reviews from tasty, luke warm to nothing special unfortunately. I had the salmon, which was hot, but the sides were on the verge of being cold, especially the veg. My guess was that it had been sitting a while before we got it. My main issue was the price, very expensive compared to similar restaurants in the area and the waiters barely cracked a smile. They were a little intimidating. I recommend going here for lunch, it’s a great spot, but if you choose dinner, watch what you are ordering to avoid an expensive bill at the end.More

We went on Friday evening and there was room even we didn't have reservations, set outside terrace and and it's good looking place and good service. For starters we had 2 vitello tonnato and garlic snails, they all where perfect, but then with the maincourses...(2 portobello pastas with duck liver and chefs pizza) 15.50€ for pizza that I can get from petrol stacion for 4€ the quality of cheese and pepperoni was a shock and the pastas where highly over salted and tasteless we eat less than half. Just don't know how it's possible to go so wrong so fast. Still service and the starters we excelent.More

As a family we go to Da Bruno about once a month. Its our Go to Place for good food, service, atmosphere etc.... However ! we went there last night and it was the worst experience you could imagine. Smoked Salmon very thick and Salty,...Changed for very thick and less salty. Main Course was awful, Spaghetti Bolognaise ( how can you go wrong at an Italian ) it was unedible. Ravioli was half cooked and half not. I asked if they had a new Chef and they said no.... I was left confused, especially as we didnt eat it and were charged FULL PRICE ! on a different note, the resident singer Frank who is consistently good was not there either...More

Went on the last night of our holiday. We asked for garlic bread as a starter to share and got given a pizza base with just tomato and herbs. For main we ordered two beef stroganoff which came with a lot of red and green...peppers in it, something we’ve never seen before. The steak was in very large pieces and was very nice. Lasagna was fine and fettuccine with salmon and rocket. The tomato sauce with the fettuccine was very creamy and very nice. For deserts we had a chocolate soufflé and strawberry ice cream. Again they were very nice. We had ordered two coffees to come at the same time, however we had nearly finished before my parents got there coffee, when they did arrive they were cold, so we think that they had been made and sat on the side before being brought over. The setting is lovely, a courtyard that has large sun shades which the majority of the seating but there is also a very nice inside area. The toilets were very clean and there is very good disabled access. There is a good parking outside. There was a real mix of people from families in casual clothes including football shirts and shorts right through to a group who were obviously celebrating something who came very dressed up, including one female wearing a tiara, which we did feel was a little over the top. The food was nice and apart from personal tastes we couldn’t fault it, however there wasn’t really any atmosphere, the staff were polite, but not friendly. As it was close to where we were staying we would of maybe used it again for takeaway pizza, but wouldn’t go back. We have had much better meals, at cheaper restaurants and had an altogether better evening.More

I do not think I have ever had as bad an experience as I have tonight. Firstly the menu is very pricey for such sub standard service and quality. I had the muscles to start and I must admit it was quite a small portion...for the price. The marinara was watery to add. After waiting an hour for my second course to arrive..... it came out cold and the excuse they used was that everyone came at once. My response was I suggest you be a manager and manage your bookings better to avoid substandard service. As I stated earlier we were one of the first tables to arrive. The lamb was overcooked and dry also. My mum ordered the ravioli and that was a huge flop as well. It came with a tomato sauce. Very much like the puree on a tomato pizza. Da Brunos is a very good chain. It's such a shame this franchise let's their reputable name down. They had no more than 100 clients in and could not accommodate their clientele. I work in a restaurant that does 600 covers in 8 hours so....... it's a very disappointing experience. The waiters seem very dour..... I think I would be working for somebody who runs their business to a sub standard!!More
