Rabelos is on the waterfront strip facing the City of Porto along with dozens of other tourist focused restaurants. This was the one I stumbled into and was generally impressed. I ordered the Peixe Alaska which was quite tasty even if a bit pricey for Porto. But at 14.50 euro it doesn't really break the bank.

We wandered in here, drawn by what looked like an interesting menu. The reality was uninspiring . The salads were drowned in sickly dressing and the mains underwhelmed. My shrimp and lobster paparadelle was ok but lacked punch while my partner's paella was stodgy after he had picked off the few pieces of seafood. The staff were friendly and the... More

We mainly visited initially because it was close to our accommodation and had a child's menu and good reviews. In the end we went back two days after the first visit because it was so good. We were delighted that the second visit was just as impressive as the last time. Food was excellent on every level. The service was... More

Located across the road from the river, this is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with Porto as a backdrop. We ordered the Bacala Portuguese-style: the fish was very lightly salted, moist and in a tomato sauce with lots of onions; the serving was more than enough for the both of us. Bread, baked brie, a bowl of olives,... More

Location is perfect. Right on the river n a few steps from the cable cars m wineries.. Customer service- impeccable and very accommodating. I wanted salmon however, they had run out but was very accommodating to ensure I was satisfied. Food was great and came in time. I had a bowl of punched potatoes and a cod fish cake. Both... More

We returned to this area of Porto because we liked the look of a few restaurants after an earlier visit. This time, we resisted the temptation to eat more cod. Instead we ordered fish stuffed with prawns and the infamous francesinha. The fish was good, but the other Porto speciality both lived up to, and down to, my expectations. A... More

The staff enticed us in by telling my husband there was a lift to the second floor - we got the best table, on the terrace and overlooking the waterfront. The service was excellent. The food was good (pasta with seafood) and the prices reasonable for what we had.

Whatever you eat, meat, fish or pasta, it's delicious. The service is wonderful. The crew is casual and professional, also very loveable. This is single-handedly the best place in Gaia - no need to look further. Thank you for making our night a blast

Went there for dinner with my boyfriend, we both got fish fillets with vegies, potatoes and sauce, both dishes really good. Wine was also good. They have a variety to choose from. The food was really good, the service also good and very friendly, the place looks nice. Prices were normal, approximately 20 e pp for main meal and a... More

How nice to be pleasantly surprised by a place like this. On the waterfront, profit seems the priority, especially July-September. There are always exceptions though and here is one. Local friends said this was good and they were right. Amazing service, stunning terrace upstairs and surprisingly good food. It isn't the Porto usual great value but the location is special... More
