Popular restaurant with very good unsophisticated food. We had “arroz de marisco” … and some small thins in the half a hour before…It was fresh, full of shrimps and other seafood stuff, and incredible big (one portion was good for 4 people).

This must rate as one of the worst meals we have ever had, in Portugal and elsewhere. The starters were fine ---- small freshly cooked shrimp and bacalau rissoles. Then came the mains which were the speciality of the house. Grilled octopus and calamari with prawns. Accompanied by soggy potatoes and a mountain of soggy greens, carrots and sprouts! Cremated... If anybody tells you to go to Matosinhos for a seafood meal, just forget about it. Seriously. Casa De Pescador is a local , mom and pop run real deal seafood restaurant. No frills clean , delicious seafood. the quantity they server is definitely more than one can eat so be careful when ordering. if you fall short you can... More

On the recommendation of taxi driver Joao we had lunch in this fabulous restaurant. A true gem of a restaurant serving the most delicious fish dishes accompanied by good Portuguese wines. Prices were very very reasonable and the service was really good.

I've been eating there for lunch. Olives and mussels as appetizers, good house wine. Main course we did choose a great mix of fish, grilled, with a big side dish of potatoes and veggies. The portion was that abundant, that we, despite of the excellent quality and taste, could just eat maybe half of it. The waiter offered we to... More

Been there in january at a pretty cold day. We took a cab to the village and immediately saw the grill standing there outside and they were firing up the charcoal. We had a great fish meal and we enjoyed the kindness of the staff.

We had taken a cab from one of the Port Wineries attempting to eat at Restaurante A Margem but found it closed. The cab driver recommended something nearby, we got out and he shushed us in but the lights were out and it was 7 pm, and he drove off. I thought we had made a big mistake. But we... More

We ended up in this restaurant by accident, since the one we were looking for was closed. As we were looking forward to eating codfish, one local told us we would be very happy at Casa do Pescador. And we were, indeed. The food is the main thing about this restaurant. We had the grilled octopus starter and "bacalhau à... More

The fish is great and the price is even better. In this restaurant you eat first class fish at a very low prices. The employees are a little bit rude but nothing really bad ...
