Chose this place because of the high rating on Tripadvisor, I decided to have dinner here. The beginning wasn’t too bad: For starter I had garlic bread and soup. For main course I ordered the grilled mixed fish. The food was nothing special. Some of the fish were undercooked and some were too dry and overcooked. I dined in Madeira... More

My wife and I had lunch here twice, after being driven here by a local, on recommendation. The food portions very generous for the price, compared to all the other restaurants we ate at during our 7-day stay in Madeira. Friendly, smiley services from the waitresses. If you visit the lovely town of Machico, then you would do well to... More

We have been dining out in Madeira for over a week. We have come across good restaurants and not-so-good restaurants. This is our first post because we feel the need to warn discerning diners about the horrible food at O Casco. We ordered vegetable soup, a mixed salad and fries. They were all expensive and barely edible. The soup was... More

It is a very local restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner there. I think the price is also reasonable. The passion fruit liquor which we had after the dinner was very tasty.

Attracted by the high rate of the place on Tripadvisor, my husband and I decided to have dinner here. The beginning was not bad: as starters we had some garlic bread and grilled limpets. As main courses we ordered the fish with banana and the typical espelada (meat). The food was nothing special and we were wondering whether or not... More

We always enjoy going to Casco and the owner Luis always make us very welcome whether it is for a drink or for a meal. The food is like home cooked and great value for money. My favourite restaurant in Machico.

We stopped here for a beer to watch the football one evening and decided to stay for food. Great decision as Luis treated us so well. Had the Lapas(limpets) with Bolo do caco and picado, espetada and omelette with various other things. Food was great and reasonably priced and we even had a drink on the house at the end.... More

We found O'Casco when we bought local property 2 years ago....Luis promptly offered any help we may need. All staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is local, Limpets (Lapas) continue to be the best we have found anywhere. Juicy Chicken Espetada and lovely Tomato Soup, Prawn Cocktail is nearly a meal on its own. Good atmosphere sitting inside or... More

O Casco restaurant was the best place we ate in in Machico. Service was “relaxed” and the dishes well-prepared. The grilled gambas were REALLY good. Scabbard fish with plantains very good too. Nice dinner!
