We visited this twice during our stay. The first time was ok. They messed up our order and service was slow but they were quite busy. The second time was bad to be honest. Service was really slow despite not being busy. There seemed to be no order to the service with guests being served when ever they felt like... More

We went to eat here (6 friends) late on a sunday afternoon, we were in no hurry and that was quite okay with the staff. We had typical portuguese starters and for the main course a lot of seafood dishes, but the steak I had (served on a skewer) was excellent too. the wine was good too. It was just... More

I have been in Portugal several times and I have never been disappointed with its amazing food until I entered into this restaurant. We ordered a full salad to share and fish as main course. When I asked the waiter about the salad he told me it was served with ahumados (smoked fush) and presunto (ham) and when he served... More

After reading varying ratings I must say I'm on the positive side: food is nice (lapas, fish, skewers) and half the price we paid in our hotel in Santana. Same for the wine which makes me rate this place higher than 'average'. It is good value for money at a very nice location under the big trees of a nice... More

Arrived here at about 12.45 and were sat down quickly. After about 20 mins I started to wonder how long is long enough to wait to be asked what we wanted to drink let alone what we wanted to eat. After 30 mins I went into the bar and ordered some drinks Then waited another 20 minutes for a large... More

My dad worked there when it first opened 45 years ago and it remains a top restaurant after all these years. Built where the old market used to be it maintains the old fountain and the old stonework. Still serves great food and it is highly recommended

I love Madeira and Machico in particular, but was surprised to find food and service had not improved since last time we visited. Explains why it was half empty in peak tourist season, despite it's lovely location in the cobbled town close atao the seafront. Restaurante Lily's is a short taxi ride away up the hill but so much better.... More

During our stay on Madera we visited this restaurant at the lunch time. After some positive experience with other restaurants, like Restaurante Lily's in Machico or Snack O Bar Professor in Santa Cruz unfortunately we were dissappointed. Our food was not prepared right - fish soup had a strange taste, steamed vegetables were completely soft and overcooked, scabbard fish looked... More
