My husband and I went last weekend to have dinner with a couple of friends, we have a baby (10 months) and as usual we took our baby with us. As soon as we arrived to the restaurant, the firts welcome words from Maggie was:...we don't have baby chairs or anything for babies. So i said, ok, I'm gonna bring my little stroller to sit the baby next to us, so when I was opening the stroller (and I want to mention that is a very small stroller that we have specially for this kind of small places) so Maggie came and said in a very rude tone: no strollers, there is no way to have an stroller here because the servers need space. I want to mention that the table next to us was with no one and stays like the whole time and she knew that because they handle reservations, in the worse case we could just open the stroller and in case someone came just close it. But it was clear she did not wanted us there with the baby. We were so uncomfortable the whole dinner, i just wanted to leave but I didn't because of my friedns. Is the first time in ly life that someone make us feel this way for the simple fact of have our baby with us, I want to mention that he is so well behaved, he did not cry or screen in any moment. Maggie, a good place is not only about food. There are better ways to say the things and if you don't want babies in your place you should mention it in your webpage. I'm not planning to come back or recommend the place to any of my friends.More

I can’t rave enough about our experience at Voila last night celebrating our anniversary! We were immediately greeted and seated by our server who gave us nonstop service all evening. We enjoyed 2 bottles of delicious Burgundy wine from France along with delightful appetizers and...entrees. We started with escargot, muscles, and clam chowder, all exquisite with delicious bread for dipping. Our entrees were salmon and bouillabaisse, both superbly prepared. We topped off our meals with a delicious crème brûlée. I must say it was the best meal we have had in a long time!More

The meal steered with a Chef Compliment of Salmon Mouse on crostini. Then we shared a generous portion of escargot. Plump snails swimming in a rich garlicky sauce served with warm baguette slices. I had the Steak Au Poivre, which was a 10 oz Filet...Mignon in a delicious pink peppercorn cream sauce with roasted fingerling potatoes, broccoli, red peppers, onions, asparagus Zucchini and Squash. My husband had the lollipop lamb chops cooked perfectly medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes and the same vegetable medley We couldn’t finish either dish but that didn’t stop us from sharing a velvety creme brûlée garnished with fresh blueberries.More

We had the most amazing meal last night at Voila. From start (mussels in a delicious cream sauce and French onion soup) to our meal (oscar filet with crab, asparagus, and mashed potatoes) to dessert (creme brûlée) - every bite was melt in your mouth...fantastic. Our server (Nick) was wonderful - attentive, funny, and so very helpful. We are still talking this morning about how perfect our entire experience was. We can’t wait to return!More

Dining at Voila was a great experience. Here are our thoughts for this cute upscale eatery. Easy to find, in Gent section of Norfolk, free parking, very close to front door available Cozy space, very friendly staff Quiet and comfortable setting Menu is varied and...not overbearing Wait staff very familiar with offerings and can explain the selections well Nick was our waiter, and we enjoyed his enthusiasm and sense of humor Did not feel rushed so the table could be turned The meals were a little pricey, but the area supports this style of eatingMore

The staff were unassuming and approachable, but also very professional and polite. We had some nice conversation. We were each served a small caprese salad, compliments of the chef. The Greek and French husband-and-wife (respectively) owners are a dream team; each of their influences are...apparent in the ambiance and menus. The food is authentically and expertly prepared. It's hard to properly convey how casual and welcoming Voila! felt, especially in its interpersonal/customer service aspects, but also had the ambiance and experience of fine dining at a moderate price point. Great place for an intimate date or special occasion with family and friends.More

Absolutely, positively the very best restaurant in Hampton Roads. 4 of us enjoyed 4 perfect dinners last Saturday night, in each case different from the others - AMAZING mussels, excellent beef wellington, extraordinary grouper, wonderful salmon, awesome steak au poivre - I could go on...and on (and on and on). To top off this entire experience with the best luck that I could ever imagine, I lost my wedding ring that night and had no idea where it was, and Maggie, the owner, bent over backwards to see if she could find it...and actually DID 3 days later, about 20 feet away, where it had rolled away from our table. We go out to eat a lot and everywhere, and I swear that you won't find a restaurant better than this.More

Decided to go here for an anniversary dinner. They have there own parking lot onsite, eliminating a potential problem in this neighborhood. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful without being overbearing. They have a good selection of classic bar drinks. We started with salad...and escargot, and had steak and seafood entrees. Everything looked and tasted great. We would recommend this place to anyone.More

This was a serendipitous find for me. Was looking for another French restaurant online and found Voila. Everything was perfect. They asked if we had plans for the theatre and we did so they made sure we got out by 7. However, service was never...rushed just efficient. Servers not obtrusive but always there at the right moment. Prix fixe menu has lots of options. I had a large, tasty salad, steak au poivre and creme brûlée for $35. Steak cooked to perfection and dessert yummy. Wine, a Vouvray, was best I have ever tasted. Like a small French bistro, very charming and cozy. Only thing missing were the lace curtains. We’ll be back soon.More

Intimate, cozy and top drawer! The pri fixe menu of mussels, steak frites and sherbet was very good. I am a mussels fan and have never tasted better, even in Brussels. The steak was done perfectly and the accompanying fries done just right. Finally, the...service was excellent, very helpful and not overbearing. I'm coming back!More
