Omar's Carriage House participated in Norfolk's Restaurant Week 2016. We decided on Omar's from the list of those participating in Restaurant Week and, are we glad we did. Such a cool atmosphere in Norfolk and the food was great from the appetizers through the entree and on to dessert! Make sure you give Omar's a try when in the area.

The location is a 1850 carriage house in downtown Norfolk that has quite a history. It was decorated nice and we went on Morracan Monday when they have special menu. All the food was excellent but the service is what made this dinner special. It has been a while since I have had service like this. Our waiter was so... More

Dined here while traveling on vacation, because this place happened to be down the street from our hotel. The selection/options were good and the environment was very cozy. I had hoped we would make it back for Moroccan night before we left, but we didn't. Wish I lived close enough to go back.

I had three meals at Omar's Carriage House this week while visiting the Tidewater area: I had lunch twice and then dinner. The food was wonderful, the service excellent and the ambience of this charming little restaurant was cozy and comfortable without being pretentious. The portions are ample while the prices are very reasonable. The wine list was extensive for... More

The best things about Omar's was the service, location and atmosphere. The menu is more ambitious than the chef can accomplish, and both my wife and I found our respective entrees tastless, and mine was overcooked and unrecognizable as what I ordered. The evening was a success only because of the company and the important subject which was our purpose... More

Came across the Carriage House whilst walking through the quite suburb roads of this lovely city. On entering we were taken by the ambience of the place - lovely and cosy, and a very warm welcome. We appeared to be the only English people dining, which in its self was quite a nice experience as it proved it wasn't a... More

This is a cute little restaurant in downtown Norfolk, but the food is absolutely incredible! We had Sunday brunch and were very satisfied with everything. The decor is cute, the dining area is small and personal, the waitstaff is attentive and friendly, and the food was surprisingly inexpensive. The most expensive meal on the menu was a steak and eggs... More

The carriage house from years ago has been converted to a restaurant. The trap door for the horse straw is still there and is open for all to see. The decor has nothing to do with being a carriage house but nicely done. Food was good. Steak was excellent. If you drink water, ask for a carafe.

The food was fresh, creative, and attractively presented. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive and efficient. This would best be described as casual elegant dining at a fair price. They always have something new to tempt me.
