Very disappointed with this restaurant. I decided to book this restaurant whist holidaying in Florence as I thought the location was lovely as were the views & menu. So I made a reservation last year & received an emailed confirmation stating my booking was reserved...for lunch. We hired a car & the plan was to drive from Florence with a stop in Sienna & then head across for lunch. It is approximately 1 hrs drive between Sienna & Il Guerrino. Whilst in Sienna, we decided to call the restaurant to advise them we were running late & see if we could push our time back by 1hr. Luckily for us, running late & trying to make a phone call was a blessing. Turns out the restaurant wasn’t answering their phone & when we checked their website, it was temporarily closed. How hard is it to send your diners an email, explaining that you are no longer trading?More

First meal we had here was decent. Nice antipasti including a very good tomato and burrata dish. Setting lovely. Pastas ok but not special. Second meal was for our anniversary plus friends. They’d forgotten about our booking and we were chucked out at a table...at the back. Food and service poor. Peposo was well flavoured but very fatty. Really regretted not having booked earlier in advance for Castellana down the hill which is an infinitely better restaurant. Come for some antipasti in the sunshine at lunch but don’t waste your time for anything more substantial.More

The first night we tried this nice place in Montefioralle they were fully booked. So the place is popular. No wonder, with that fabulous view of the vines surrounding. Good food and service, some gluten free alternatives but few vegan. And the chairs were terrible...

The view from the terrasse is stunning! I guess they rely on that only, since the quality of the food is not there, and the prices are too high. We were a bit disappointed.

The 4 of us had a really nice dinner with a wonderful view. The food was typical Tuscan. The bistecca alla fiorentino was tender and cooked to perfection. The service was very good and the house wine was just fine.

We had a great lunch here, but the star of the show is the fantastic view. Located in Montefioralle which is a tiny picture-perfect medieval village, Il Guerrino is perched on edge of the hill with sweeping view of Chianti vineyards. Worth a stop on...your Chianti itinerary.More

We had lunch in this lovely restaurant. The waiter was welcoming and helped us choose a seat by the window so we could enjoy the view (unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't sit on the splendid balcony). The food was delicious... a great selection...on the menu that pleased the whole family (travelling with teens). Nice atmosphere and unhurried pace meant we could enjoy the experience and take out time to soak in the view and the pasta sauces over wine.More

The view from the restaurant is fantastic and is quite unique. However the service and the food was rather mediocre. The waiter was clearly not trained and did not hide that he couldn’t give a ... fig. The pasta with yellow tomatoes was very good...but my risotto was undercooked and excessively salty. We will not be back.More

This wonderful restaurant offers the best of Tuscany. Exquisite food and breathtaking views in a picturesque Tuscan town. This medieval town is small but a must see in my opinion. The restaurant has breathtaking views of Tuscan hills and the food was exquisitely prepared. The...staff was excellent and the wine was superb. I honestly think it was the best meal I had in all of Tuscany.More

The perfect restaurant with the perfect view in the perfect Tuscan town. The wait staff so helpful, allowed us to try our Italian, or not. The menu has a great variety for all diets and palates. The wine went perfectly with my pot roast and...there wasn’t a bite remaining. This was a trip highlight!More

Restaurant located in a small elevated castle-town, the terrace has a breathtaking view on chianti hills and wine yards. The menu contains Italian recipes, traditional or with a twist. Ingredients of very good quality, generous portions, vegetarian options available. Service careful and discrete. Overall a...great lunch experience. Warning: The drive to reach the top is not for the faint of heart and very few parking spots are available in the town. The view and the food are worth the challenge.More

We were lucky enough to have lunch and wine tasting at Il Guerrino a few days ago. What a place.... this was truly one of the most spectacular places we have ever eaten. The food was fantastic, some of the best we ate in the...whole of Italy. I particularly recommend the Burrata and traditional tomato soup, and the gnocchi. The wine and owner Catherine’s knowledge and explanation of the wines coming from their winery (which you can see on the hilltop whilst drinking the wine) was truly remarkable! And the view is breathtaking- beautiful undulating hilltops speckled with vineyards! This was such a beautiful experience- I would recommend to everyone- well worth taking a trip to Montefioralle (spectacular cobbled hilltop town). Truly one of the most special and memorable experiences we have had! Thank you to David and Catherine!More

We came here for lunch with a group of 12. I made a reservation weeks in advance and the restaurant emailed me with my confirmation. When we arrived they were unaware of any reservation. Fortunately, they quickly put a table together for the 12 of...us on the terrace with beautiful views. The food was very good and we had a great lunch. They only negative comment is when and how they brought the food out. I understand bringing out food as it is ready, but some appetizers came out for a few of us while others received their main entrees first and others received nothing when they ordered the same thing. There was plenty of delicious bread and wine while they waited so it was worth the side trip to this charming village and restaurant.More

Great area to walk around and check out the town. Food was pretty good, we had truffle tagliatelle and mushroom tortelli. Both enjoyed. The service was not great in comparison to what we’ve seen at other spots. Still worth the trip.
