This restaurant was so good that we ate dinner here twice,. The first night we had the bean bruschetta, the lemon tortellini (the best we've ever tasted), & the Florentine rosemary & pepper steak! Everything was delish. Fyi we were unable to visit their website to make a reservation, so we took a chance and showed up without a reservation... More

Best restaurant in the Chianti great welcome and a gastronomic experience At the entrance of the most beautiful village of Italy Montefiorale you have to come early or book a table with a great view at sun set over the Tuscany country side I recommended the fresh pasta with truffles or the carcioffi and do not miss the Tuscany local... This is an traditional Tuscan restaurant just a short drive up the hill from Greve. When we arrived for late lunch the terrace was full and we had to sit inside. If you want to enjoy the view and sit outside you have to book a table. We ordered chicken stew/sauce and beef with truffles, and there was a lot... More

Our lunch at la Castellana was one of the better meals we have had in Italy. The highlight was the ravioli with a generous shaving of fresh truffle. All the other dishes were delicious. The wine list has a wide range of whites and reds, but we settled for a bottle of the house wine, which was good value. The... More

Owned by the same family that runs the Cantinetta di Passinagno among other restaurants, some great dishes on offer here, particularly the Ravioli truffle. Reserve ahead to book one of the outside tables as the interior of the restaurant is less inspiring.

We had heard Montefioralle was a pretty village. Difficult to find the road out of Greve but worth the effort. We passed the restaurant while parking the car (large car park beyond the village) and, after exploring we returned to have lunch there. What a find! The food was absolutely excellent. I had ravioli with ricotta & gorgonzola cheese in... More

The food was delicious and the setting magical, located in the medieval walled city of Montefioralle just up the hill from Greve. Our dinner reservations were cancelled due to some sort of water/flooding issue but we were able to snag a table the following day for lunch and were not disappointed.

BOne of the best meals we had during our 3 weeks stay in Italy. We went on a rainy day, and with a stroller and an baby, so got a table inside. A cosy small place with excellent service. The village is cut and the view is typical for Tuscany. We went for meat and home made dessert and you... More

We were recommended this restaurant and we enjoyed our meal. There are a few parking places outside and more parking in the village. The view of the local hills and vineyards is good if you sit outside. We arrived early as we hadn't booked and were glad that we did as everyone else had booked and numerous people were turned... Typical restaurant settled in Chianti area, up on the hill of Montefioralle, near the medieval town; you can taste the typical Chianti cuisine in una unique place with a family atmoshere. Our dishes are made with fresh, seasonal hight quality ingredients, following old traditional receipes, with a personal modern touch. Our speciality are: plates with fresh truffle, appetizer with fresh and local meat-cuts (tuscan ham, salami, sausage) and cheeses, hand-made pasta, wildboard, the real Florentine-style steak, hand-made cakes. From our cellery: local Chianti wines from the best farms, red-wines like Brunello, Montepulciano, Chianti Classico, selected wines from all Italy. During the summer you can dine on our terrace over-looking the wonderful hills.
