To reach this restaurant you'll have to pray. Small lanes climbing up to the mountain with almost no directions nor your navigator is able to help you. After lots of attempts we succeeded in arriving at the parking area where the restaurant management picks up...clients and brings them up to the restaurant. Rather than a parking area, it is a gravel road where your car tries to go up. Unsuccessfully, as it is made just of dust so that your wheels turn empty with consequent risks in terms of safety. After waiting a lot we saw a simple Fiat Panda whereas we where around 15 persons. Obviously, it took a long time to do all the necessary trips to bring all of us up to the restaurant. Surrounded by a wood, it is an old wine cellar with many tables in the open air and a wide indoor room which is used in the colder months. As a whole, our dinner was in the average. The staff was polite but quite lacking in organisation: most of our food and beverages were delivered to the table near us and vice versa. Starters, first courses and main courses (including pizza) were satisfactory. The potato and pasta soup was fancifully served in a pizza basket and was tasty. But when we were ordering our meal and asked for their local wine, I specificly requested very cold white wine. They assured me that it was icy. Unfortunately, it was tepid. The bill was in the average too. All in all, we were not enthusiastic about this experience.More

Dear Customer, first of all thank you for dining at our place. Yes, our restaurant is placed on a mountain, and so, as you should have known, as all ours others costumers already know when they book, reaching us is not that simple. Those roads...More

Tasty, fresh, locally farmed food, location and service. Service is excellent from the booking when they asked for any allergy and arranged some gluten free variants, to the shuttle and the waiters attentive but not intrusive. Location is awesome. You should get there by 8:15...to enjoy an amazing sunset from the top of the hill with the sun setting beyhin Forio. But location is also awesome because it is quiet, you can hear the bustling Forio far away and you enjoy the silence on the mountain. Finally, last but not least, the food. We had some delicious appetizers and some very tender, juicy, grilled meat. Both not fancy but really delicious. Probably the best are the "primi", pasta (they have some gorgeous pasta with potatoes and mozzarella baked and served within a pizza bowl but due to my gluten allergy I could not have it. They also have pizza. Probably the menu could be longer, there are not so many options but those that are there are really worth trying.More

This is the 4th time that I came here this summer! The location is really beautiful, the staff is lovely and the food is amazing! Me and my friends (all of us from Ischia) love this place, a MUST try is the meat! I also...eat only gluten free, and they have a lot of choices, with gluten free pasta and GF bread, is one of the few places on the island where I can have a lot of choice about food! Me and my friends travel everywhere around the world, and this is one of the our favourite place ever! We’ll definitely keeping come here!!! If you chose to eat here you will definitely not regret it!More

I came to ischia for my degree holidays in May, and the receptionist suggested me to visit this restaurant. The provide a shuttle service to pick you up and go almost on top of the mountain, when you get to the restaurant you get astonished!...Food selection is restricted BUT, EVERYTHING IS DAMN ORGANIC,and I think their pizza is by far the best ever! In a week I spent In ischia I ate 5 nights here, hope they will open soon a new location closer to my houseMore

We book this place as suggested from some local friends. Shuttle for arrive to the place is not so well organized and if there are more than 1 table to go, can be also to wait up to 25 minutes. Really long time for take...the orders, after 40 minutes waiting, food arrives but without drinks (they threw away for mistake our order), so waiter provide with our drinks but was always forgetting something else and needed to ask more than once. Food in general was not too bad especially pasta with potatoes but in 2019 service and English knowledge should be a priority. Price ok but can’t understand cover price of some € for person.More

We had a great evening here, we all shared seasonal dishes and were impressed with the quality and fresh element of everything. The shuttle ride up to the restaurant only added to the experience. Ended up taking away a bottle of the limoncello, very nice...hidden place for those who want to try fresh and localMore

Visited this crazily located place and the mixed starters are just incredible. Superb and faultless. We ordered a carbonara which was too salty which is why it hasn’t made the 5 stars but it might have been a one off. I might have been unlucky....I just couldn’t eat it all. However I’d recommend it - go!More

We’ve ordered a tabe through our recession, it was a bit difficult to find the place due different navigation were showing different places and we were driving a scooter. No one explained us how to get there :( If you will decide to go: Take...a taxi and they will drop you before the gate, call restaurant and they’ll send their own van to bring you uphill :) If you’ll get there you’ll never will be disappointed. Try pizza or any other starter, it will be delicious. Stake or any other second dish - it will be delicious. I simply 🖤 this place.More

We visited La Cantina in mid-August. They took us with shuttle from center of Forio to their restaurant. We tried La Contadina as a starter, it was really good example of tasting. After that we ate their classic, pasta and patate; and grilled mixture plate....What you eat in The menu, their own products. Basil, tomato, sausage, cheeses, etc. Our waiter Rosario was a perfect man. We strongly reccommend this place.More
