Since opening in 1995 on the Greek island of Naxos, Scirocco has become somewhat of an institution in naxos not to be missed. Behind the scenes mama Katerina creates her favourite dishes, which luckily for you, she shares with more than just her family. Her sons, Nikos and Michalis, will make sure that you feel right at home, just like they do. You will want to come again, in fact, you may never want to leave.

Everything is perfect at Scirocco... Food, Service & Atmosphere.

I have been going to Scirocco for decades, the idea of having a dinner at Scirocco always excites me and who ever comes along. The food, service and atmosphere is always 5 stars, the owners Nikos & Michalis are always welcoming and you can tell how much heart they put into everything they do to satisfy every single customer. I am usually on Naxos 6-8 weeks per year, without exaggerating, I have a special diner and evening every second night at Scirocco, many times I do not skip a night. See you in 2021!!

Good food, excellent atmosphere

I was a bit skeptical about this place, as it is located right next to one of the landmarks in Naxos where tourists usually roam. But I was so wrong - great food, great experience, everyone left happy (group of 4 adults and 3 kids), the waiters/owners were very friendly and careful with the kids and went the extra mile to make us feel welcomed. One of the best stifados I ate in Greece, and everything was reasonably priced - don't miss it if you're looking for a place to eat in Naxos.

Went here upon recommendation of their Moussaka by our Greek host. It is in a prime location in a main square and the food was delicious. We ordered Meatballs and Cheese starters, and then a Moussaka and Fillet Steak main - they initially got my Fillet Steak order wrong but the waiter immediately apologised and it only took 10 minutes to rectify whilst they also kept my partner's Moussaka warm. Mistakes happen everywhere and anywhere, we don't mind as the waiter was lovely and made sure we got it fixed. Then the steak itself was absolutely fantastic. After all that they also gave us a free dessert unexpectedly (sorry but we were so stuffed from the delicious meals before that we couldn't finish it). It is a little pricier than other places however this is to be expected, it is in a prime location and the ingredients felt and tasted very high quality. This is the same practically anywhere in Europe.

Wonderful family-run restaurant

We has several meals at Scirocco over our holiday and couldn't help but keep coming back. The service is warm and friendly, the menu is has classic, home-made dishes and traditional favourites, and a lot of the produce is locally sourced. It is centrally located and accessible to taxis. My favourite dish is the saganaki with local honey, so delicious!

Decent Greek food with attentive service. We had a range of meals, (meatballs, lamb stew, pasta & vegetarian stuffed aubergine), all were very tasty and the accompanying sliced potatoes made a lovely alternative to chips. The complimentary homemade ice cream & honey was up their with one of the best ice creams I’ve had.

Good restaurant at great location

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. We were made welcome by everyone and the staff were attentive to all of our requests. Michalis and Nikos were friendly and made our evening a pleasant experience. All dishes were of good quality, nice portion sizes and well presented. On a personal note, I enjoyed the "fisherman's saganaki", good flavours and was plenty and adequate. Overall, I would suggest that this is a good restaurant to visit and at a very convenient central location. Ευχαριστούμε παιδιά, ελπίζω να σας δούμε σύντομα παλι.

Amazing meatballs!

We went here for our first dinner in Naxos, the restaurant was very busy so would recommend booking. The meatballs politiki starter was absolutely delicious, so full of flavour. Moussaka and lamb chops were also great and the staff were really welcoming. A lovely meal.

The best meal in Naxos

The first night we came there was no space but the waiter told us that a couple of people had asked to pay so we waited and very glad we did. The waiters were all incredibly polite and helpful. The food was delicious. They even bring mini oil and vinegar for if you want more on your salad (although they already put). Prices are very good for the service and quality of food. They also offer a desert or small drink on the house which is a lovely touch. We loved it so much we came back on our last night in Naxos and we loved it all again. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Would come here again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

Wonderful, delicious food!

I found this restaurant on a blog of places to eat in Naxos and after checking the Trip Advisor reviews I knew it was the perfect place for us to go for dinner! We visited in peak season in August so it was busy but worth the short wait to sit outside. The staff were perhaps not able to chat as much as usual as it was so busy, and I can imagine it is so tiring working during the summer season. This being said, the service was prompt and efficient and we felt well looked after. It’s a family run business and their origin story is really sweet, it’s been open for 25 years. We had a wonderful meal of tzatziki, bread, the most delicious saganaki that we’ve eaten in Greece so far, marinaded sardines and the catch of the day fish grilled with Naxos style potatoes. It was SO good! I can’t recommend this place enough for dinner in Naxos.

Disappointing

We were recommended to go to this restaurant and had seen people queuing to get in so had high expectations. The food in my view compared to other restaurants in Naxos was average. I had the lamb kleftico which was mainly melted cheese and my husband had salmon which was dry. Eating with people queuing and watching you did not contribute to a relaxed evening as you felt they were waiting for you to finish to get your table. Overall very disappointing evening.

Lovely traditional restaurant just off from the port.

Saw this loon the way down to the front, thought it looked nice and rang to book a table. Very helpful and accommodating. Nice choice of local dishes on the menu, so difficult to know what to have. Once we had decided, it was greatly anticipated. We were not disappointed. Absolutely lovely. Definitely recommend to go here. But would advise booking if you want to eat earlier, we were happy eating at 10:15. But that’s not for everyone.

Great as always

I visit this restaurant every time I come to the island for many years. Holidays or business. Food, stuff, are the best all the time. Generally in Naxos-compare to other tourist destinations-you can eat great food. This restaurant is ideal for authentic Greek cuisine.Maybe little busy late afternoon, but worth the wait. Must try barley with shrimps.

Great authentic Greek food

Delicious food and lovely staff. We really recommend the taster starter as you get to try so many different things, but be careful of the portion sizes - we ordered far too much but they kindly packed some for us to take away. The restaurant is in a lovely location and has great atmosphere

We arrived about 7:45 without a reservation and were greeted warmly and asked to wait a couple of minutes and then seated. We were lucky as this place is always busy. Staff very friendly and courteous. Food very good. Would go there again.

Great friendly place and authentic Greek food

We were in Naxos for two weeks in September 2020 and unfortunately only tried this restaurant late on in our stay so ate there twice. Very warm welcome and on the second occasion they even remembered our name for the reservation. Lovely food, really enjoyed the Gigandes beans, the Moussaka and the Lamb Kleftiko. We can't wait to re-visit next September.
