While we definitely had great gastronomical experiences in Naxos as a total, were we not that spoiled with the choices in Naxos town (driven by the fact that many restaurants had closed for the season due to the pandemic). The shining star among Naxos restaurants...in the old toen definitely was doukato with its relaxed outdoor seating and fantastic food. The fried Zucchini balls were a revelation that I think of to this day and everything else was also very solid cooking! I don't know what there's not to like about the restaurant, we would definitely come back again!More

My favourite restaurant in Naxos. Enjoyed it so much the first time we came back for a birthday celebration. I love courtyard tavernas and this one excels. The food is fabulous, try the Doukato special souvlakis for two, really good. Our party of eight tried...most things, fish dishes such as sea bream being popular. House wines were really good as were the helpful and friendly staff. Incredibly good value. First port of call next time I'm in Naxos.More

This lovely restaurant is set back one street from the main port promenade which gives it a feeling of intimacy. The setting is inviting, warm, friendly and well patronised with cedar trees giving shade. The waiters are very attentive without being overbearing. The food was...simply delicious, offering fabulous salads, such as one with rocket mixed with dried figs, pomegranits, local cheese and balsamic dressing. Simply divine. Our main courses, spicy meatballs and moussaka were both delicious.More

Nice traditional yard but full of cats that climb on the tables. Really small portions in some dishes, we ordered the shrimps and we were served a plate with four small shrimps (we were a party of five). We asked to take out an ingredient...of the stuffed kalamari and we couldn’t because they were pre-cooked. Other than that the stuff were pretty friendlyMore

We turned up at Doukato on a whim and they managed to fit us in despite a busy evening. Later we saw waiters providing drinks for those queuing outside, so a fully comprehensive customer experience. Gorgeous old courtyard with trees & plants fluttering around. Food...was delicious - the meat & other classic Greek food, especially the starters, were exceptional. Also a delicious red wine - the only one we had in Greece - which was a nice surprise!More

Great service, tasty food, amazing atmosphere. During our 3 days stay in Naxos we went there twice! All the dishes we took were simple but fresh and delicious. Prices very modest for the quantity and quality you get. I highly recommend this place :)

We had a great time at the restaurant mostly because of the framework but a bit disappointed about the food. They make lot of noise about the chef, the distinctions they have but there is nothing outstanding. I took a risotto, but everything was overcook,...burning, bathed in a tomato sauce that covers all the tastes, pity. The service is allright but it will be better if we had our appetizers before our meal, a bit disconcerting. Try it but i think it's better to take simple stuff.More

In an interesting terrace which used to be a monastery's yard , the restaurant provides tasteful plain plates. I would expect a little more fantasy in the combination of the flavours..Good service

Fantastic restaurant. Beautiful location in the old chora of Naxos. Dinner is served in the delightful internal garden with a beautiful tree in the middle and flowers everywhere. Excellent service and food prepared with wisdom and the intoxicating scents of the Mediterranean. We ate truly...unsurpassed grilled meat accompanied by good red wine and with abundant tasty local vegetables. Price absolutely ok. Don't miss it. We have gone several times and will return again. Well done.More

During a recent trip in Naxo's, myself and my partner has heard great things about Doukato. Set in an old monastery in the old town its picturesque and has and amazing, rich history, We sat in the courtyard which has lovely little lights and a...tree in the centre and the seats are sheltered from the wind. The waiters were attentive and the food was divine. We got the saganaki and courgette balls to start with the swordfish for mains. It was honestly some of the best food on our trip so good we returned a second time. Would 100% recommend anybody visiting Naxos to head to Doukato. Truly a magical atmosphere.More
