Sometimes there are cultural events in the "Rheintheater". that is the occasion, when we visit "Kleines Brauhaus" during the break. They serve homemade snacks of good quality and local wines. But something really special is the variety of home made crafts beers. Let them explain the brands and taste them. It is worthwile!

We looked forward to have beers and dinner there. Highly recommended here and by other cyclists, we were really excited. We followed the ads they put in the road, every few meters, and arrived very disappointed to find it closed due to the rain. Well.. They could have, at least, removed the ads on the road and write something in... More

Mahls Kleines Brauhaus is just a short distance from the Main Street of Bacharach. We saw an advertisement as we left the boat quay and being beer fans we decided to visit. A good decision. The beers are authentic and tasty, brewed faithfully to the Reinheitsgebot (beer purity laws) from the Middle Ages. The Doppelbock was particularly good. There are... More

Preface: I'm half Austrian and half Czech, travel for food and work and live in one of the U.S. microbrew capitals(San Diego) and love to cook. I think I'm qualified to comment on beer and good food. When I tell you that the beers here at KB are some of the best I've ever had and the food is simply... More

I tend to agree with other reviewers that this is an odd place. The terrace has an odd carny atmosphere and the service is damn slow. The beer however was worth the visit, as a matter of fact, we visited several times just for the beer! I love a good strong dark beer, which isn't always easy to find in... More

We really enjoyed our meal here--it is a fun atmosphere and they have a lot of toys in the yard for kids. We were the first to arrive so got our order in fast (thank goodness, because as another reviewer pointed out), some other tables left as the service can be really slow. The beer was very good and our... More

The first three days of my trip to Germany were solo as my wife was joining me later. Checked this place out. Was a little skeptical at first as it was under a circus tent but glad that I did. Great beer. Let's start there. Homemade. Excellent. No one does hefeweizen like the Germans. Service was great as well. They... More

We were surprised to find a bier garten in Bacharach since this part of the Rhein is very much grape growing region. They had four different microbrews on tap. I went with the helles which was very good. It’s quite a funky place; the bier garten is an old carrousel where you sit. There’s a very small restaurant inside, a... More

Had lunch here on a sunny afternoon, view of the Rhine was hindered by plastic curtains put up around the carousel. The food we ordered was very good, Spondekäs and Jägerschnitzel, and the homebrewed beer was very tasty! Service was fast and attentive. The only negative were the zillions of little fruit flies. You had to put something over you... More

We happened upon this while walking in Bacharach. It has a large patio overlooking the Rhine River. We don't speak (or obviously, read) German so had no idea what we wanted to order. The waitress spoke excellent English and offered to review the menu with us. We told her to just bring us two German items that she liked. She... More
