This is a hole in wall spot. The place was little sketchy at first. Waitress was nice and made you feel welcome. I got the chicken special. The mac and cheese was awesome. Chicken was also good. It was a special but I felt the price was high. But food is good. Would visit again.

We stopped here for lunch. It was a place that was unassuming and I think you would find in everyone's home town. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the wait staff was very friendly. The food was good too.

Grits were outstanding! Great staff. Food was excellent. Apple butter was outstanding, so much so that we bought a jar.

We loved the food! Some of the highlights were the fried oysters, fried fish, omelet, and pancakes!!! The kids also loved the burgers. The whole family wanted to go back the next day for breakfast but they are closed on Sunday's. It was by far one of if not the best meals we had during our mini vacay in New... More

Came for lunch with my girlfriend and we loved it. It's in a beautiful city center with an awesome fountain you can walk around. The food was excellent and the service was warm and welcoming. They don't have places like this back home and it was extremely enjoyable. I would highly suggest visiting this place.

Went here for breakfast they definitely rush you for table turnover. Service is fast bordering pushy.. Not for a working breakfast. True diner style restaurant. Sweet potato pancakes w/honey butter, was good. Eggs typical as therest of our meal was typical diner breakfast fare. The coffee was a very weak and flavorless. I drink it black and add Tabasco. needed... More

This place is a good little lunch spot. We always get Evelyn. We love her. They do rush you though. They want you in and out because they serve so many from the surrounding businesses I guess. I've had the fried bologna. It's good. The steak sandwich was really delicious. The grilled cheese and hamburger, not so much. The fries?... More

Love this lunch place in Newport News, Virginia. Never a bad meal. Can be a bit busy at times and a little slow service -- but other then that, try it. Very good food.
