Great Italian food and the service was excellent. This restaurant was one of the best restaurants in the Newport News Area that I found. I would recommend every time for service, Quality and just down right good food.

Luigi's Italian Restaurant is back with the same staff, but a different owner. Luigi's closed down for a year or so, and was replaced by a Mexican restaurant; which went out of business. This our #1 favorite Italian restaurant! We live in Virginia Beach, and have no problems going to Newport News, about a half hour, depending on the Hampton... More

Established in 1987. Vinny & Sonny Chiarello originally opened their doors as "Luigi's Pizza and Subs" in Newport News, VA in 1987. The brothers moved to Newport News from Queens, NY in 1986-- to their humble beginnings in a small pizza joint just down the road from where they are currently located. Salad, pasta salads, garlic knots, dessert knots, pasta dishes and pizza. You can find at least two choices of every thing or maybe more. Family run business with all hands on deck. Authentic feel and they welcome you like family. Only open for lunch and Saturday buffet offers other options.

What a racket!!! They only take cash, and of course the ATM they own charges a dollar to get money... REALLY!?! It's 2016, get with society or charge another 50 cents to cover the transaction fee... The salad was white lettuce with a few other toppings. Pizza and Stromboli choices were pretty greasy, but ok tasting once you got past... More

HungryViking, The buffet is $9--that includes your drink. Many businesses do not accept credit card charges for less than $10...same concept here. We are a lunch spot, there is nothing over $20 on our menu so we try to keep it simple. We have an ATM inside for your convenience. Many ATMS charge $3 or more for transactions, the minimum... More

The quality of food is among the best at any Italian restaurant let alone for a buffet. Fantastic selection, great price that includes your drink, and friendly staff that provides great service.

This place is not the most convenient but the lunch is worth the trip. $7.95 gets you fresh salad, pizza. stromboli and soup. When I asked the waitress for the check for the iced teas she said they were included. Francesca , I hope thats the spelling is a most attentive host. You will not be dissapointed.

My son & I heard on Facebook that Luigi's is back for lunch buffet. As soon as we had a weekday together, we stopped by for lunch. It was just as wonderful as before: potato soup, salad, garlic knots, and the pizza was to die for. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing our old friends and really enjoying lunch; quality & service has not... I like to thank Luigi's for the accommodations, awesome food and great staff. The food was delicious true Italian cuisine. The grandchildren pretended to be grown ups. The staff was happy to oblige. A great experience for us.

Description
Vinny & Sonny Chiarello originally opened their doors as "Luigi's Pizza and Subs" in Newport News, VA in 1987. The brothers moved to Newport News from Queens, NY in 1986-- to their humble beginnings in a small pizza joint just down the road on from where they are currently located on Warwick Blvd. They built their business based on their Italian roots & love of their family's original recipes. Growing up, they learned early on the importance of great food and the tradition of sharing meals with loved ones in groups both large & small. Luigi's quickly grew into a successful full-service restaurant specializing in a variety of pizzas & pastas of their own (now) famous recipes. After 30 years, in 2014, Vinny & Sonny closed Luigi's in hopes of retirement. A Mexican Restaurant in its place just didn't make the cut. Luigi's loyalists pined over the loss through countless calls & emails for over a year. The brother's daughters reopened Luigi's in 2016 to "Revive The Next Generation". & so, The Love is Back!
