The only thing I dislike about this place is the bench seating (not comfy), especially if you get the window table in winter (FREEZING!). Now that we've got that out of the way... All the food here has been perfect, every time. perfectly cooked to order, perfectly balanced flavors (even the cocktails), perfectly seasoned. I wish we could afford to... More

I went with 2 girl friends on a girls night out. We had a great time. Everything we ordered was delicious and we ended up doing all three courses as well as quite a bit of wine. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful as well. Its true its a bit tight in there but it didn't diminish our enjoyment... More

Circa 1918 is an intimate, romantic, upscale dining experience. It has all the accoutrements of a NYC restaurant. Such a fabulous find in Newport News. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the entrees and dessert. I had the most delectable lamb chops and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his perfectly cooked grass fed filet mignon (huge cut as my husband... More

Very, very good food at Circa 1918. Typical bistro fare with some seafood, meat and poultry. Had the scallops and they were terrific. Portions are not very big, which is fine as it makes every bite taste better. Good wine menu. Fairly small place so make sure to get reservations on Open Table.

BEST restaurant in NN! No need to think you need to go to Richmond or elsewhere for great food- it's right here in NN! It's literally a NN secret that needs to be shared! Chef Chad Martin really is amazing! My husband and I love the lamb burger & fresh fish! Kip the bartender is amazing and makes the best... More

Very small dining space but very intimate. Food is excellent - worth the price. We save this place for special occassions. They do have a $5 wine night which is great for trying new wines.

My husband and I had an amazing anniversary dinner at Circa this week. We highly recommend the bison meatloaf and the melt in your mouth scallops. The cheesecake with caramelized bananas was perfection as well. Our server, Paul, provided excellent service. Really can't say a bad thing about this place. Loved the small, intimate setting and can't wait to return... More

Delicious dinners, always well-prepared. Nice use of spices and some surprising flavor combinations. Portion sizes were just right.

This place knows how to run a restaurant. Everything was beyond fantastic. The food was AMAZING, As were the servers. We will be here for a week, and you can bet we will be back before then.

We've been to this restaurant several times and we've never been disappointed. The menu has some creative dishes that are very well prepared. The specials are amazing. We had fried green tomatoes, which is their specialty, and salmon sliders as appetizers. The swordfish special was perfectly prepared. The scallops were cooked beautifully. They also have a good selection of wines... More
