I found this place on Google for “best burgers in Newport News.” When we got there, my wife was super skeptical, as the restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn, and at nearly noon, there was only one other couple in the place. Anyway, I...had the Classic Burger with onion rings and my wife had the fish sandwich with fries. The burger was great—soft bun, decent patty, good toppings, and hot. The onion rings were great. My wife LOVED the fish. Huge piece of cod!! My only ding was the fountain drinks weren’t great. Otherwise, great meal.
All in all, I’d recommend this place. Be forewarned that your spouse will give you the look, but it’s worth the try. We’d definitely come back.More
I’m a local and ordered to-go from Grub Hub. As a service industry person I often find burgers can be a let down, but Burger Theory was fantastic! The burgers were cooked to the correct temperature, nicely seasoned, and just delicious. We just got their...classic burgers, one single, one double. The patties are big. Got their KGB sauce on the side just in case it was gross, but it was also yummy. I’m glad I got it on the side though because the bread would have been soggy by the time it arrived. Tots were great too. Great job to whoever was cooking 7/11/21 around 5pm. I will absolutely order again.More
It didn't dawn on me that this restaurant was part of a hotel. Not that it really meant anything but just caught me by surprise. Nonetheless, that didn't change the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The food was good and plentiful and...the atmosphere was appealing and clean. Customer service was pretty on point as well. My only reason for not giving five stars is because the menu wasn't updated to reflect an accurate dessert menu. The menu talked about and showed pictures of these little dessert jars. I think it was like cake inside a jar with ice cream on top or something like that. Though when I asked, that wasn't what was available. Slight damper on my hopes in trying the dessert but still a good experience overall.More
Came here on the expectation that I'd get a great burger - not just a good one. I received neither. It was a normal burger, possible a steak cut but not seasoned enough to tell. The menu was very scarce and left me wondering where...the rest of the menu would be. Additionally, I ordered the Firecracker shrimp ($12) to go and all I received was a 5"x5"x4" take-out box with six shrimp and no garnishment/greenery, etc. Presentation is a 2/5. I know that the economy is just reopening, but this place had 3 people in it on a weekend. Outdoor seating area is a 4/5.More
Called in a take out order, when I paid they charge an 18% gratuity on the take out order and a SrvChrg of close to the same amount. None of these charges were reflected on their online menu. They are trying to be a premium...burger place and charging premium prices but these hidden charges are unethical and will keep me from coming back.More
For three people to have a burger each, it cost $60. The waitress pointed out that the 18% gratuity goes to corporate and not to wait staff because of Covid-19. At the itemization at the end of the bill, it’s changed to a service charge....We gave the server an additional 18% because we didn’t want her to not get a tip if this is the case. I’m calling corporate because a $10 burger shouldn’t really cost $12.
The burgers were good, but the staff kept pulling masks below their noses and one actually talked over us without his.More

While staying at the Holiday Inn we ate at Burger Theory. I have to admit we almost left because after being seated, no one came back to take our drink order. HOWEVER, once it was discovered that we hadn't been waited on, the service and...the food was exceptional. They have some of the best fries I think I've ever eaten. We will most certainly eat there again. P.S. we did get a 20% discount for the wait.More
Staff was a bit slow off of the line, 7 mins to come over and ask us if we had been helped after they seated us. Nice atmosphere, fun looking, restraunt is part of hotel and not in main stream area and caters mostly to...people staying there and Banquet guest, bar drink are pricey. Can get a bit noise as it fills up. Plenty of parking. Burgers are pretty good, more than big enough to share. Convenience would be my key word.More
