Went to eat here late friday evening, little bit side on the main street, but good find. Interior was really pleasent and staff was friendly. Wine list here is amazing.. ifyou can´t find wine what you like then it´s your problem... Food.. glorious food.. Don´t really have the words to descripe it, but it was amazing... normally don´t go twice... More

Off the beaten track. Gilles is a friendly host and the chef. Food very good, slow to be served but nice wine and nice staff.

Restaurant is set back from the main marina, so you don't get the view. The whole place is very casual, relaxed. The menu was good but overpriced for what it was. Service was excruciatingly slow - waited nearly 30 minutes between each course and we were the first table to sit down.

Stopped by early on a Saturday evening as a party of 7 without a reservation. Accommodated us with no problem. We had some drinks and one course - mainly fish and one steak shared between two kids (looked great). Very good food. Service was friendly. It took a while, but we weren't in a hurry, the sun was shining, they... More

I wasn't convinced whilst walking up the alley towards the restaurant. The outside isn't the most appealing but inside actually quite comfy compared to most. My fish soup was so rich in flavour it was a little too so for me. We also had a vegetable and goats cheese tian which good but a tad heavy on the onion. Sole... More

Down a little side street, chez fred doesn't look that appealing as you pass. A lovely get away from the heaving masses on the front in summer and in a lovely shaded spot means you can relax in here. Not too big so you don't get forgotten by overbusy waiters, like others places on the main street, it has a... More

My wife and I happened upon the restaurant, looking for something different than the typical quay touristy place. Chez Fred is a delight. Fabulously fresh fish with incredible sauces! We shared two appetizers and one main -- raie, which was cooked perfectly. The service was very good on this quiet weekday summer evening. The next day we brought along our... More

We were served by a very helpful waitress who spoke good english and had Raie (Skate) and John Dory at here recommendation. We like fish and the servings were generous and very good, but at €25 - 35 for each entree course we thought it expensive. Wine list pricey too and the house wine nothing special. We were pleased to... More

We were looking for Raie (Skate, Ray or Stingray) on the menu. Ile de Re is one of the few places to find it. This place is tucked up a little alley of the port. Nice sized contemporary dining room with wine bar. Very fresh fish and shell fish of all kinds, the chef even brought out a live fish... More

Super local restaurant - we decided to forego an entree as we had over eaten all week ( thats what happens in france) which is just as well as a hearty slab of course pork pate and a basket full of fresh white bread soon arrived as a very hefty amuse bouche. It was yummy. I had John dory (known... More
