We had lunch at the Restaurant du Port. It looked to be a popular place among the locals. We started with fish soup/prawns and whelks. Then we both had Papayette de Mer Rouge (Red sea papaya?), a nice fish but clearly not local. Finished off with creme brûlée. That was on the €16.70 menu. Friendly service

Visited for lunch during our summer holiday. Very nice meal, wide variety of choice and menu with fish and seafood specialities. We had the lunchtime set menu; soup de poissons, skate with vegetables then I've flottant. Excellent quality and price, nice atmosphere, efficient service & helpful staff. I would highly recommend.

Went there on Tripadvisor recommendations and was not disappointed. We arrive just before midday and there was several couples looking at the menus outside. By 12:15 about 10 tables were occupied out side, but this is quiet a big restaurant and there was still a couple of tables free even when we left. We chose from the €16.5 three course... More

Had no real idea in mind of where we were going to eat but stopped here - 4 adults and 2 kids for lunch on a Monday Lunchtime in August. Restaurant was really busy outside but still plenty of space. We all opted for one of the set menus, which were wonderful value for money - starters included Fish Terrine,... More

We found the restaurant whilst exploring the village and just couldnt walk past the "Menu du jour" Great value and great variety. Service was terrific, fast and efficient and the staff were extremely patient with our extremely limited (aka non existant) french. All in all this place is definately worth a visit.

Obviously I cannot comment on the food! However, when we arrived we asked a waitress what the plate de jour was. She pointed to a board and mumbled something. We then sat at a table. It was 130pm and the menu board stated that they served food till 2pm. The waiter took our drinks order. When he returned with the... More

We enjoyed excellent meals at le Restaurant du Port on l'Île d'Oleron. The service was excellent, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We were served by the owner of the restaurant and she was very knowledgeable and accommadating. One of the group was not feeling well and we special ordered a meal which she did not... More

We have visited this restaurant several times on trips to see our friends who live on Oleron. Its is always consistently good food and the chef here isnt afraid of trying something different. Often in France restaurants stick to the same menu for years but not this chef, On our last trip in the beginning of January they even opened... More

This 'restaurant' sits, as its name suggests, on the port. It is the first one sees on leaving the carpark on the port. Four of us attempted to eat there during a stay in June. We arrived at 13:30 for lunch and our waitress said she would check to ensure that the kitchen staff would serve us lunch. On hearing... More
