Just had a truly fantastic meal at la croix du sud. We had Dover sole and lamb couscous and both dishes tasted divine. Desert was Creme brûlée and ile (oleron) de flotant - all home made and were wonderful. Large portions!!

Once in a while, you stumble on somewhere absolutely enchanting, and this is one of those places. Excellent location, wonderful service, and great, reasonably priced cooking. Not a big menu, a good sign in my book, with everything we ate authentic and beautifully cooked.

Very lucky choice of restaurant to celebrate a birthday lunch in chateau d'oleron. The food was excellent and the service above average. The atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant and the restaurant has lovely views overlooking the harbour.
