Evening meal with friends. Steaks cooked just as we all liked and asked for (3 different ways). Lovely pizza for the fourth meal. The dessert was amazing.
Really friendly and helpful staff, who spoke good English.
Will definitely go again.
Burned pizzas is really a dissatisfier. Jambon as topping was greasy and not appreciated. Served slightly folded was nice but overall quality is not good. Better options in town available. We do not recommend this restaurant.
Great service and great value at this lovely little restaurant. The pizzas are on a thin base, but don’t let that fool you - they are fully loaded and are delicious! Well worth a stop and we will return when next in the area...
I really wanted to like this place but it wasn't good and I definitely wouldn't go back or recommend it. The pizza base was thin but the texture was strange - more like crepe than bread and (I never thought I'd say this about a...pizza but) there was too much topping - mine had more ham than pizza base, I had to take loads off and leave it which felt a real waste but also the ratio wasn't good, I could barely taste anything except ham. Even my husband left some chorizo because there was too much and I've never known him leave food behind! the only option of the kids meal was nuggest or ham with chips which were too salty for a kid in my opinion. the restaurant was really quiet tonight - there were 3 tables in- but I'm sorry to say the service wasn't great, I think the waitress (or owner, I'm not sure) had some friends in, she was distracted and I had to ask her to clear out table and then interupt her conversation to ask for our bill - I did try to wait for her conversation to finish but it just never did! so I didn't enjoy the food very much and didn't feel very looked after, hence not wanting to return. Wish I could have found something nicer to say but this is my honest review.More
Firstly, my opinion may be affected by the decor and the Hellfest on tap... but my family have advised me to think twice. The pizza that we ordered were delicious, the bases were very thin and the toppings generous. One complaint is the burnt edge...to the pizzas, not sure what part of the process causes this, but it does detract from the enjoyment a touch. However, on the whole the pizza were very nice. My son had the roast camembert and judging but the empty plate at the end, this also was a success. One of our favourite evenings out in la tranche sur mer. Personally, I'd come back for the beer alone, and I believe my family would join me for the food.More
first visit coped well with 4 people and meal was average to good, a possible improvement on previous visits
BUT on return with a pre-warned and booked large birthday party 14 people they really struggled
ignored the one kid who's birthday it was concentrating on...the table with more adults and his food came out nearly last,, extras taken in doggy bag but the vegetarian pizza was put in with the ham and cheese!More
This was probably my favourite meal whilst staying in La Tranche - we were a group of four adults and two young children, all catered for perfectly with friendly service and good food. One of the best pizzas I've had - thin base and lots...of topping! Desserts were great too. It was very busy and we were lucky to get a seat outside to watch the world go by - lots of people grabbing takeaway pizza also!More
We ate here a few times on a recent July 2016 visit to la Tranche sur Mer.
The first time we were two adults and two kids, and we ordered three portions of modules frites and a pizza. Big mistake. The pizza was enormous, and...the adults struggled to finish their moules ( which were not exceptional, but still very good).
On later visits, we had three adults and three kids. Three portions of moules and one pizza was more than adequate to feed all 6 of us. Extra plates to allow sharing of moules and pizza was no problem.
It was hot and sunny but we sat inside. It wasn't crowded ( unlike some other places nearby), service was attentive and very pleasant (no colouring books and crayons provided for kids unlike some French establishments, but laid back and very calm).
There are several restaurants in La Tranche and we tried a lots of them but this was the best. We skipped desert as there are several ice cream shops on the same street, but I'd thoroughly recommend this place.More
