we stayed in the hotel so enjoyed breakfast in the morning before departing. Breakfast was very good but a bit confusing about what could be eaten without exceeding the selected meal plan. Food was fresh and delicious.

We have now been to the restaurant at L;Esplanade on two occasions in the last few days. What a wonderful experience. The view was magnificent and the food matched them. Although the price was on the high side the chef does this restaurant proud, Each course was well crafted and the tastes were full of flavour. Over the two visits... More

We had not dined in this restaurant for many years, we were in Sarlat, and we remembered well the outstanding food, service, and view. We were not disappointed! The hôtel/restaurant is still run by the same family. We had a reservation, which was honored, as was our request for a table by the window. The dining room is beautiful, tables... More

My wife and I stayed four nights at L'Esplanade and dined two evenings at the restaurant. Everything was good and the Grand Marnier soufflé mentioned by another guest was remarkable. The service is very formal but was a little spotty at times. On our first evening, we asked for more water and butter three times before the requested items finally... More

Ever heard the idea that when locals eat at the restaurant, that's where you want to be? Since I was staying at this wonderful hotel, I made that observation. So, we made our reservations. We sat down to Haviland china and a dining room reflecting the country of the Dordogne. The wine list is impressive. The wait staff and the... More

This restaurant in the old medieval city of Domme, sits high above the Dordogne valley and has a great menu. The food is gorgeous with a very artistic presentation. Everything we tried was good, from the grilled foie gras with raspberries to the gravlax and the strawberry dessert( to die for). It is expensive, but if you want to have... More

First of all I must say the service is excellent with a friendly and expertly attentive staff. And the view is magnificent. But fine dining is all about the food. While each item was expertly cooked (perfectly grilled, flaky fish and crisp vegetables) and the presentation was flawless I have to say the taste of everything was, well to put... More

Our party of 5 stayed here for 4 nights in September 2015. The location of this hotel and restaurant is one of a kind with a beautiful view of the valley below. We had dinner in the restaurant every night and recommend everyone to do the same. One of the owners is the head chef and his pride of ownership... More

Drinks on the terrace overlooking the gorgeous view along the Dordogne. We were brought our amuse-bouche to enjoy with our pre- dinner drinks which was a great idea. The uncooked foie gras with the strawberry foam, jelly and bread was a great combination. The duck was perfectly cooked and tender and the tiny portions of vegetables, foams, purées and fruit... This hotel is overpriced with a mediocre and pricey breakfast. Try to avoid room 7 and try for a room on the Dordogne River side, if you stay here.
