Delicious Tagine

We were lucky to find Chez Hosni & have a shrimp Tagine in his 'special onion sauce'. It was genuinely delicious. Just note that if you don't ask the price at the beginning he will tell you to pay what you feel like at the end, so I have no idea whether we paid anything similar to what he thinks would be appropriate, or what the menu price likely was. But it was a great meal and a friendly host. :)

Great experience

Imagine a good friend invites you for dinner, and offers to cook together with him. Exactly that is what you should expect. This is no fancy restaurant, but an experience in itself. Hosni is a great host and you can, like we did, help him preparing your tajine. As a surprise he also made his famous fruit tajine for dessert It’s up to you to rate his work with the amount you are willing to pay. We gave 180 MAD even though after reading that other people paid less for the same ♥️ thx Hosni, we loved every minute at your place ♥️

Possibly the best food experience in the universe!

Tagines prepared with love and humour in the middle of the pottery district. We had a large red bream on a bed of carrots and sliced potatoes. These beautiful fish are served to locals who flock to Hosni for a delicious lunch and those tourists who seek out his timeless delicacies Followed by a fresh fruit tagine which should not be missed. Then pay what the food and humour was worth to you M. Hosni Oualidi and his lovely team are a gem and shouldn't be missed

Most memorable meal we had in Morocco

We had a delightful lunch at Chez Hosni. The chicken was great, the fruit desert fantastic and our meal was filled with laughter and the joy of being alive It is not a full restaurant with lots of tables and service but a magical "hole in the wall" with Chef Hosni as cook and server and entertainer. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.

The verdict of the people is correct - a wonderful place

Do not expect a high class restaurant with waiters serving you. It is a small place and Hosni is the only guy who does the cooking and the serving. Only Tajines are available and you can choose from what is available. We went for the fish tajine and the chicken tajine and they were both amazing. We did not leave a shred of food in those tajines. Hosni will entertain you with interesting stories. It is an institution in this town and for very good reason. Highly recommended. Go early.

Without a doubt, the best seafood tagines I’ve ever tasted in my whole life!! Knowing that I come from a city known for its fish culinary heritage ! Moreover, he is one of the nicest and wisest people I’ve ever met !!!!

I have to write this review 2 years after visit (I cannot add earlier time), because it was such an incredible experience and I have to write this. One of the best, maybe the best restaurant experience I have ever experienced so far. The food is delicious, price are - well, he told us to pay how much we want and we get a present - perfect, you should visit this city just for this!

Not expected, super delicious food in Safi in Chez Hosni

We ate a fish and a chicken tajine. Both were extraordinarily delicious. As a dessert, Hosni recommended us a fruit tajine. A very delicious new taste of hot fruits with spices. The portions were just too much for us. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat it. We were a little overwhelmed with the payment, because there is no menu with prices at Chez Hosni. Every guest pays what he thinks is right. It was a bit strange, we probably paid too much. But in the end it was absolutely worth The important thing I would like to say is that the new place of his restaurant is not very easy to find. Apparently, the restaurant was in a different place before and Google misled us a bit. It is also not necessarily referred to as a restaurant. The furniture and decor is very typical Moroccan simple. But the food is just super delicious

Simple place with Wonderful food!

The place is very simple and to our surprise we ate the Best Tajine we have ever experienced in our lives! The Fish was so fresh and cooked into a marvelous succulent taste! Fantastic! Highly recommended ! Hosni is very kind and intelligent. Thank you for the wonderful Tajine!

Amazing tajine in Safi

Best restaurant in Morocco

Myself and boyfriend had the most incredible experience at Chez Hosni. Hosni is an amazing chef and person. I am vegetarian and asked if he could make me a tagine, the next second he was showing me how to cook one and I was helping him in the kitchen. My boyfriend had a delicious tagine with a whole Sea Bream, it was his favourite meal out of our 10 day stay! Hosni is a very kind person. Everyone should go and eat there.
