We had a delightful lunch at Chez Hosni. The chicken was great, the fruit desert fantastic and our meal was filled with laughter and the joy of being alive It is not a full restaurant with lots of tables and service but a magical "hole...in the wall" with Chef Hosni as cook and server and entertainer. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.More
We were lucky to find Chez Hosni & have a shrimp Tagine in his 'special onion sauce'. It was genuinely delicious. Just note that if you don't ask the price at the beginning he will tell you to pay what you feel like at the...end, so I have no idea whether we paid anything similar to what he thinks would be appropriate, or what the menu price likely was. But it was a great meal and a friendly host. :)More
Do not expect a high class restaurant with waiters serving you. It is a small place and Hosni is the only guy who does the cooking and the serving. Only Tajines are available and you can choose from what is available. We went for the...fish tajine and the chicken tajine and they were both amazing. We did not leave a shred of food in those tajines. Hosni will entertain you with interesting stories. It is an institution in this town and for very good reason. Highly recommended. Go early.More
I have to write this review 2 years after visit (I cannot add earlier time), because it was such an incredible experience and I have to write this. One of the best, maybe the best restaurant experience I have ever experienced so far. The food...is delicious, price are - well, he told us to pay how much we want and we get a present - perfect, you should visit this city just for this!More
Best food in the universe! Chef Hosni was very nice to talk to. He showed us how to make our own tagine and even let my girlfriend help him cook. A great experience in Safi.
Hosni the chef is very hospitable and offers some of the best food I had the chance to eat in Morocco. Definitely go for the fish!
I ate a delicious fish tagine at this restaurant and it was succulent and delicious. Infused with subtle aromatic spices and friendly service.
Myself and boyfriend had the most incredible experience at Chez Hosni. Hosni is an amazing chef and person. I am vegetarian and asked if he could make me a tagine, the next second he was showing me how to cook one and I was helping...him in the kitchen. My boyfriend had a delicious tagine with a whole Sea Bream, it was his favourite meal out of our 10 day stay! Hosni is a very kind person. Everyone should go and eat there.More
My very sexy wife and I chose Chez Hosni based on the sterling reviews and what occurred was a truly unforgettable evening. Monsueir Hosni is a generous and jovial host and we enjoyed his fantastic cuisine until we couldn't eat another bite. For the leftovers...he gave us two traditional ceramic ramekins as souvenirs of Safi. Cannot recommend enough. C'est le mayor restaurant dan tout le universe! Absolute ledge.More
Great food with the immensely entertaining owner Hosni. His attention to his guests and great food is well worth a visit. He was the perfect host. His food is well worth the time spent in his resturant. Its artisanal, tasty, cooked with passion, and not...at all expensive. Do visit!More
We were travelling through Moroccan coast on the way to taghazout, and we decided to spend one night in Safi. Here we had our dinner at Chez Hosni. The place is very small, but extremely authentic. It does not provide any written menu, just what...is already prepared or ready to be done. The place, the extremely delicious food and the spontaneity of the owner made it with no doubt one of the most original sites we have been in whole morocco. We had a fish tajina, cooked in an handmade pottery, typical Safi art. The owner didn't ask for a price, but just to pay what we thought was worth, thing that we personally appreciate a lot. Super recommended.More
The owner of the restaurant is absolutely lovable and friendly, food is tasty! Can't complain about the price either as it's very reasonable. Thank you so much for a fantastic dinner, especially the fruit tajine!
When I first saw the restaurant, I had doubts. Hosni is a very civilized host, he only offers very tasty tajines, The fruit tajine is a bit sweet though. Preparing the food takes time, we had to wait for half an hour.
We pumped into this place by accident and found ourselves in a peculiar heaven. Yes, it doesn’t look that fancy but the food is just soooo superb and fresh and Hosni is definitely a person to remember, a genious in his kitchen and a wonderful...and warm personality, who’s really proud of his marvellous work. 10 points.More
