We were hungry for pizza! Not just you regular pizza from Pizza Hut or Domino's or the likes, but pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven that would be something special. We passed by the day before and decided to return for a meal. We had pizza and ravioli and both were very good. It was open air, so a little warm, but not bad for the evening meal.

The pizzas are not the usual ones served at Pizza Hut, Domino's, El Mondo etc outlets. The cosa nostra pizza is the real one! The pizza has an impeccable thin base and made in a wood fired oven. I was literally like 'wow' at each bite of my pizza. The pasta is fresh and hand made. Everything seems fresh- veggies on pizza, the chilli and the pasta. Also, the owner of the restaurant is a smiling, friendly and nice gentleman and that is welcoming!

A fantastic restaurant that you could easily pass by if you don’t know it’s there a real gem.
It’s on the road on the corner opposite the salt fields
Best pizzas I have had in Mauritius, with a beautiful thin crust and the pasta is good too.
Courtyard seating but with a lovely atmosphere
We have been here several times and the service was much quicker than last year so all credit to the staff, well done keep it up.

I have been coming to Eric’s establishment for the last 10 years odd, in fact the original place was called the Tam Cafe and there was also a billabong shop next to it, back in 2000 🤔😁, not sure if anyone else can recall. I have always loved the food and general decor etc at la cosa Nostra, but I just don’t get the service from the rest of the staff 🤔 it’s like a lucky draw or in this case unlucky, depending on the day. Eric is great and 1 or 2 of the other staff members but for the most part the rest just seem so grumpy and that’s not a great experience when going out and get to be served by rude and uninterested waitresses.
80% of my experiences have been bad service related and how other customers are also treated, not even me, 😂😂, and not great either. Anyway great place hope you guys get it right or perhaps the staff were just having a bad day. Hopefully there will be more good days

The best pizza ever 😍 ... since I discovered this place it became my number one for pizza , and the atmosphere here is so friendly, relax your so at ease I really love this place . I can’t wait to be back to eat here ❤️ apart from your pizza I don’t want any other pizza 🍕

If you have ever been to Italy don’t expect anything like you have experienced before! The pizza bases are more like a cheese biscuit, thin and hard. Every pizza comes with a strange green chilli/garlic sauce. The toppings are OK. But the warmth of the welcome is definitely cool.

I’m always impressed at the caring service.
This is winner, don’t miss it. The pasta dishes great. We’ve had the lemon pasta as well as carbonara

Met up with friends for dinner there, and the experience was... interesting, to say the least.
The service is terrible, even by Mauritian standards (which are rock bottom to start with), we constantly had to wave over waiters to get any kind of service, the service itself was slow, devoid of any attention, much less any enthusiasm/friendliness.
The food was actually quite good, probably the best pizzas on the West coast.
The restaurant is also very loud, and has very little ventilation, so it gets very hot & uncomfortable very quickly, and there are mosquitoes all the time.
But the gem of the evening was a visit to our table by a COCKROACH - which crawled over someone's foot, then onto the wall, and then onto me!!! The staff did not seem bothered at all, which suggests that this is not the first time that this has happened.
I filed a complaint with the Health Department of Bambous, which promised a site visit, but I did not hear back from them, so in all likelihood either the site inspection did not take place or it did and they were offered "free lunches" to look the other way.

Absolutely horrible food. The service was incredibly horrendous. The placement of the tables to the arrangements of the food. Felt like the chef threw something to just get out of actually cooking. The steak was chewy and poorly done bad cut of meat. The pasta, the specialty, was bland. An all round disgusting experience

Nice restaurant on Main Street in Black River. Make reservations as insides fills up fast. Parking is off street 250m before restaurant. Beer and wine available was nice in this sleepy part of Mauritius. Pizza was good, as was the garlic bread with pesto/cheese topic. Prices are reasonable. Worth a try

We went there with friends to celebrate my birthday. The ordered menus was good, we took different dishes. The service was good. Definitely I'm going to go back there. It's a pizzeria and also italian menus.

We ate there twice in a week, staying at the Veranda Tamarin a short walk away. Food good, and maybe the best pizza in Mauritius, but not the best pizzas I've ever had. I 'd go ther again tjhough. Food much better than the hotel and a much better atmosphere

The front area is non smoking and the 'garden area' is a smoking area. However the garden area is a 30cm away area and is mostly covered.this retains the cigarette Smell and Smoke. People smoking in the 'garden area' unfortunately impact on non smoking people in the non smoking room. The smell ruins the customer experience.Inhaling cigarette smoke, also known as passive smoking, can cause cancer and respiratory and cardiovascular disease. Indoor smoking is banned at many public places and worksites; at others, smoking areas have been moved outdoors. I noticed that the restaurant adopted a environment friendly own bottled water. Pls go all the way. If the food quality is good customer will follow.

We had lunch… pizza and a chicken sallad. The pizza was really nice… and the salad was quite good too.
It was a nice atmosphere…all that’s needed to get a higher point here was some friendly smiles from the staff.

The pizza was over cooked and the rim was completely burnt. The owner refused to accept his mistake and instead, very rudely refused to make us a new one. Horrible service.
