We prefer this over Devil's Back Bone. The space here is much better, we enjoyed live music while we are, the serrice is exceptionally personal and attentive and the food is fresh and very well flavored. If you have time for just one brewery along Route 151, choose Wild Wolf.

Great food, beer, atmosphere and staff! We ended up here because DB was total chaos! Food is chef inspired, beer is awesome and staff is attentive! Great experience! Be back next trip! XO

Nice atmosphere. Good service. Better culinary offering than D&B and good beer selection. Get you're early to avoid long waits.

Visiting in the area, which we love, but never again the WWBC. Husband and I tried 3 entrees--Rueben for him, which he said was not tender and bland, smoked potato salad which he had to ask for some mayo just to get a few pieces down. I tried the jambalaya after reading reviews--it was next to awful. Shrimp were good... More

The place is great for ambiance. We had come after a long drive. The beers were good. The service was good. The fried pickles were ok. The menu was basic American fare. It was good not great.

I recommend Wild Wolf for dinner over Devils Backbone if you're considering breweries for dinner. The beer is better tasting and food is great.

We found this place as we were traveling home and loved it! The food is very good and the setting is terrific. We had the jambalaya and cornbread. The jambalaya could have been seasoned a little spicier, but that did not prevent us from cleaning our plates. We sat in the enclosed back porch, but would have been happy to... More

This place was recommended by our B&B host for live music, beer and the food. We had a pretty good butternut squash risotto and a fantastic blueberry cobbler. Two cobblers actually because we couldn't get enough from the first! The live music was perfect mix of Anericana bluegrass and the ambiance cozy both inside and out. Nothing fancy just straight... Excellent food, great outdoor seating and gluten-free options all in one place! The beer selection is good too and they have local ciders as a GF option.

This is the second time I have been there this year. We went on a Friday night to hear a band. I still think the place is very nice with lots of "areas" depending on what you are interested in: kids area, pet area, pub, music, sit-down quiet. I ordered the Jambalaya and it was awesome. My father-in-law ordered the... More

Description
Wild Wolf Brewing Company, established November 11, 2011, is one of just a few mother/son operations in the country. Danny, a classically trained Brewmaster by the Siebel Institute in Chicago, and his mom, a business savvy entrepreneur, have turned a family passion for craft beer into one of the fastest growing breweries in Virginia. The brewery and restaurant is situated in the heart of the Brew Ridge Trail and features a wide selection of hand-crafted beers as well as the freshest local foods in Central Virginia-all in a century old, revitalized Nelson County school house. The ten acre property features an authentic Biergarten, shaded by a protective canopy of 60-year-old Siberian Elms, including a charming gazebo, large Koi pond, and working water wheel. In addition, an outdoor pavilion has been enclosed to allow for a four season dining experience. The pavilion hosts live music every weekend year round. Inside the restaurant, guests are treated to a rustic dining experience, including wrap-around porches that provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains and property. Toward the back of the old schoolhouse guests enter the new building which houses a lively sports bar as well as our brewing facility.
