I went to lunch with 2 girlfriends and we all enjoyed our meal very much! I had a delicious burger and cup of roasted red pepper crab soup! One of my friends had a bowl of the crab soup and the other loved her chili!...Can't wait to come back. We ate outside and felt very safe...service was fantastic!More

We had friends from out of town visiting us, and they had their 6 year old son with them. We wanted to go somewhere that was kid friendly, and had a variety of menu options. The diner was a hit with the whole group! Even...on a busy Sunday at noon, we only had a short wait to be seated. The menu is huge! Breakfast (served all day), appetizers, burgers, seafood, a variety of hot dogs.... there is literally something for everyone. A server waited on us immediately, and took our orders. The food came out hot and delicious, and very quick! I ordered the crab cakes, and was not disappointed! If you ordered fries, they came in abundance; the hush puppies were very tasty; and they only thing that was "sub-par" was the mac-and-cheese. We were very full from our meal, but could not resist the hand-mixed shakes... oh man, they were delicious! I will definitely be back, and this is now my favorite place to bring out-of-town guests!More

Fun time, met old friends. We all got burgers. Mine was perfect, delicious. Sunday lunchtime, very busy. But moved along, wasn't a long wait. Good service, good food. I'll go back.

Stopped in for breakfast and ordered the corned beef hash. When it came out and was served to me it look like pure vomit on my plate. I went to eat it and took one bite of it and almost puked on my self. It...was totally disgusting. I looked around and others were barely eating as well. I believe this retro diner is now serving petrified food. I do not recommend this place for anything .More

Met a friend for lunch. She had a hamburger that looked delicious. I had a salad....pretty lackluster... No dark greens, just romaine. It was palatable but not to the point I would return. Server was very nice and interior was interesting.

Want a place to gather with friends on a Friday night that doesn't involve a 45 minute or longer wait to get a table; this is the place to be. River City Diner is a step back in time with a life size Elvis inside....The staff was friendly and as our friends gathered for dinner we were able to have easy conversation as the noise level was very low due to the lack of crowd. The food portions are large, but lack flavor. The fries on the plate could serve a family of 4. Breakfast is served at all times and the waffle is huge. The cocktails come in a large glass, but we felt like we were drinking straight lemonade (did they forget the Lynchburg part?)More

I arrived for breakfast and employees were friendly and greeted at the door. The place is clean and has a diner vibe that I loved with Elvis and motorcycles and spots to take photos and 60's music. The menu is great with lots of options...also for the kids. However my grits were soupy, my pancake was too thick but favorable and eggs looked like they were cooked on a dirty griddle. My son ordered the potatoes and he said they were just great. The bacon was thin and I wished I had taken a photo to show but the waitress was so nice I could not ruin her day with my critiqueMore

Over the last couple of years my wife and I have enjoyed New Year’s Day breakfast at the River City Diner located on Parham Road in Richmond. Always great food selection and great service. Imagine our surprise when we discovered there was a second River...City Diner located on Huguenot Road in Midlothian. Atmosphere in both locations is nostalgic with 1950’s and 1960s decorations adorning the walls and other interior spaces. The booths have old school mini juke boxes on the tables (with music of the period) and all condiments are readily available on the table in old school baskets. During our recent Saturday morning visit, parking was not an issue and the wait time for a table was minimum and before we knew it we had beverages in hand and our breakfast orders were taken. The staff was friendly and our server made it a point to frequently check on us, topping off coffee, water, or any other requests. Breakfast was great and my wife and I decided we’d return for either lunch or dinner at some point in the near future. The location of the diner is convenient and there’s plenty of parking (unlike the Parham Road location where it can sometimes be a crap shoot). All in all we enjoyed the experience and would recommend this nostalgic dining venue for couples and families alike.More
