We were on a long drive from the east coast to Pittsburgh and I was craving a deli sandwich, something different from the fast food found along the highway. We googled "deli near me" when rounding Richmond and found the Red Rooster Country Store. What...a charming place filled with candies, cookies, snacks, gifts, and other delights. Thank you to the lovely ladies who cheerfully created a deli sandwich that I designed, even though it was edging up to closing time. Highly recommended that you stop in when you have time to browse and stock up on some treats! They even sell pies...More

Went to my grandson's soccer game and this is where we had lunch. I had a club sandwich, deviled egg and a shake. My son had a Rueben, daughter in law a turkey with a berry sauce, granddaughter a roast beef and my grandson a...child's grilled cheese. Child's plate comes with ice cream. All the food was fresh and delicious. There were a lot of locals (seemed my son's family knew everybody). Also a store with candies, bread, jellies, etc.More

Good food and even better service! Chicken salad is very good, but the beef eater is the best. No sodas, so if you want Coke, bring your own.

Looking for a quick bite for lunch but didn’t want typical fast food—I’m so glad we stumbled across Red Rooster Country Store. I had a BBQ sandwiches (try the apple butter sauce) and my husband had a BLT. Both great!! Loved the sauce so much...we bought some to take home. Amazing selection of sweets so of course we tried the homemade cookies. Yummy!!More

My daughter and I stopped by the Red Rooster Country Store for lunch recently. We both love country ham so we got the country ham rolls and upgraded to a meal. The meal came with a side and a drink. Everything was very fresh. For...dessert we both had Key Lime pie. Soooo good! I want to go back and try a milkshake or ice cream. They had big homemade brownies and the girl working there fixed up a brownie with some soft serve ice cream for a little boy. He was dancing around in excitement. They have a fridge with some local yogurt, meat and cheese that you can buy. There are two rows of candy and snacks like you might find in an Amish country store. They also sold fresh local bread, goats milk soap and some gift type items. All seemed to be locally made. They sell their deli meat by the pound too. We just loved this little restaurant and will definitely be back.More

I have only had the peanut butter/chocolate milkshake at Red Rooster. A friend brought one to my house one day as a treat and I've been addicted ever since! The peanut butter is freshly ground--yum :) I do not actually live that close to Red...Rooster but when I find myself in the area, there are many reasons to stop. They serve food that is produced by local farms, ones with which I am personally familiar. Meats and cheese are sold as well as baked goods, i.e., breads, rolls, pies, etc. It is a local cheese shop. It is nice to have a place where these local products can be purchased all in one place instead of going to the multiple local farms themselves. There are craft/gift ideas for sale and all are unique! We love Red Rooster and enjoy each and every visit!More

This is a neat little Amish store with all kinds of candies & snacks. They also have a little jewelry & some other things that you can buy. They serve sandwiches, desserts & ice cream. We had barbecues. They were ok but they were a...little dry. I feel that they are a little pricey.More
