You're immediately overwhelmed with the feeling of a tacky tourist stop somewhere in the Southwest or "South of the Border" on I-95 just across the state line in northern South Carolina. They even have cheap candy. My wife and I went there for lunch. Service...was very fast and the food was tasty. I had carnitas and she had a burrito, all lunch portions and prices, which were just fine. I typically go to another Mexican restaurant for carnnitas--Viva Mexico's were very tasty and not fatty (like my other place). It's visually busy in there, but good food. I'd go back.More

We have been going to Viva Mexico for many years. Everything there is delicious. Prices are quite reasonable. Service is efficient and friendly.

My friend & I had lunch here. They were not busy. The food was good & you got plenty for your money. The service was quick.

The worst food. It took them 15 minutes to seat us. Then another 15 to take our order. That was the last time we saw the server. No refills on drinks and chips. It was over an hour and 15 minutes to get our one...plate of food. It was nothing special. We watched a table walk out and another complain about the service. Not enough people in the restaurant to make it "busy". The table next to us was at the hour mark waiting for their food. They still didn't get it before we left. The manager was very blasé about it all. Was arguing with the customers and talking about them when they left. Lots of dirty tables and staff standing around talking. It was awful. Not worth it. Never again.More

We have been here several times. It's normally a very quick restaurant to eat at with average food. It's overly decorated and is very overwhelming when you first walk in.

A new face in the crowded "authentic" Mexican field, but good food and reasonable prices. Start with the fresh salsa.
