Good place for a family with kids. Great breakfast menu with some signature dishes. Good food. Menu offers different dishes like a signature specialty dish of their own. Very affordable for families with kids. We would eat there again. Close to the resort. Clean. Friendly service.

This is a GREAT place to eat if you're in the area. It is located right off route 33, east off Harrisonburg and west of Elkton. They have a good selection on their menu and it is a VERY clean place. It is very close to the Massanutten Resort.

If you're staying at Massanutten, do yourself a favor and try the Thunderbird at least once for breakfast during your stay. Large portions of pancakes, french toast, eggs, housemade sausage, and the best homemade strawberry jam ever! Plus a bunch of cute, bubbly waitresses to help start your morning off right! You'll probably be back a second or third time... More

Stopped in for dinner one evening while we were at Massanutten. Courtney was super-nice and attentive. The food was very good, especially for a small local place. There are two types of gravy - one we tried on the chicken fried steak and the other on the open-faced turkey - and both are delicious. The hot rod sandwich was enormous,... More

We were in Masanutten for the weekend and needed to grab dinner, and I needed a beer. This place ended up being one of the best parts of the trip. I had my first chicken fried steak ever. I tend to hate breaded stuff because I get grossed out by soggy bread. (French toast... No thank you.) But for some... More

There's no rocket science to preparing breakfast food, but when every patron cleans their plates and gets up from their tables with smiles on their faces, the folks at Thunderbird must be putting an extra sprinkle of love on top of each dish. We'llll for sure come back to give dinner a try.

I had an omelet. She had eggs and home made sausage. Friendly service, tasty and real food, and good menu variety. Some very appealing pancake choices. The prices were on par, or maybe better, than Cracker Barrell. They have a reciprocating 10% discount with Hanks down the road.

Wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandson and I ate dinner at Thunderbird. Food was OK but nothing to get excited about. Staff was friendly. Cafe was old, needed remodeling. Prices too high for quality of food and surroundings.

Our party of nine enjoyed a breakfast on our departure day from a week at The Summit Massanutten Resort. The food was ok and the service was good. Upon leaving, the cook (bandana man) was spotted in the mens' restroom using the urinal. He exited the restroom without washing his hands. Gross! Unfortunately, I was not informed of this until... I am glad you enjoyed your meal and the service at Thunderbird Cafe. To reply to your complaint I have a designated sink in the kitchen that has foot pedals and commercial grade anti-bacterial soap, which allows for more sanitary washing. Additionally, the owner likes to respond to these complaints and you were told he would not return until Wednesday... More
