Best Pizza

Best pizza when the owner makes it. Lots of toppings and cooked to perfection. Their chicken parmigiana is excellent. The portion size is enough for 2 people. Some of the best pasta we’ve had.

An Unexpected Surprise, but A Welcome One

I went to Monte Carlo after a successful job interview, mostly out of hunger more than anything else and I was expecting very basic Italian fare. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. I had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. Very good, all in all, considering the quality of other places. The marinara sauce could stand to be hot, but to each their own. The star of the meal however, was the Shrimp Portofino- which was sauteed shrimp, mushrooms, parsley and garlic served in a very light olive oil sauce over penne pasta with shredded cheese on top. Incredibly good and flavorful, without resorting to a heavy sauce, excessive spice, or any other 'gimmicks' you would see in pasta dishes. I myself almost always use an Alfredo sauce when I cook, so this was a new experience for me. Definitely my personal recommendation should you be in the area, and a place I will visit again.

The food and service are excellent. Our party of three each had a different meal. All meals were hot and very tastey. Nice decore.

Disappointed

We waited for an hour for our main meals. 3 out of 4 meals were delivered and we had to wait extra for the last one so we can eat together. Then a wrong pasta order came so we had to wait longer for the right meal while the other 3 were getting cold. We wanted to talk to the manager but unfortunately at this time she was very busy to come out and talk to us. For an Italian place the pasta wasn’t very satisfying. Good salad and bread but that’s it.

Best pizza in Lynchburg

I've been eating here for years. They have the best pizza in the area. The other menu items are equally good. Service is prompt and the owner frequently stops by out table to make sure everything is to our liking.

Had pizzas and beer. Very delicious and fast. Servers were polite. Prices reasonable. We had members of our party drift in but these were met with speed and efficiency. Will return!

Best Sicilian pizza!

I love Monte Carlo! Their pizza is one of my favorites, and their Sicilian is the best I’ve ever had. I was born and grew up in Lynchburg, so I’ve been going there for years and go there every time I’m in town for a visit if possible and have never found a Sicilian pizza that even comes close. Being in the food industry, I know good ingredients, and they use the best, especially the stringy cheese. If you are looking for delicious pizza, this is a must try, and pizzas from the chains don’t come close. I love pizza and have tried tons, and theirs is one of the best

Deserves a visit

My wife and I have been coming to the Monte Carlo for years. They have some of the best pizza in town. If you love really thick deep crust pizza, their Sicilian Thick Crust pizza is the best in town. Personally, I love it with the Works but all of 5he options are great. The New York Style regular crust is also exceptional. My wife is a huge fan of their Calzones - simply incredible! The menu has a wide variety of Italian dishes with at least 60 dinner entries featuring Sicilian dishes; pasta combinations; seafood; or veal, chicken, and lamb. If you want to talk over dinner, this is a great place to come. There is no loud distracting music. The service is simply the best in town. I highly recommend you try the Monte Carlo.

After our group of family and friends did One Way Out Escape Room, we all went to dinner at one of my favorite places! Offer a variety of menu items, seating never a problem for large groups and Phillipo always sees that his customers are taken care of!!!!

Best eggplant parm in town!

We met another couple there who had never been to the restaurant before. They also thoroughly enjoyed it. The wife was especially pleased because Monte Carlo makes both gluten- free pizza and pasta. She opted for the pizza and loved it. I had my usual eggplant Parmesan because it is most like the dish I used to get in NY where I lived for many years and which abounds in wonderful Italian restaurants.

watch the sauce

We have dined here at least 6 times. Lunch was always good as we had a sandwich. However 2 times we came home sick after eating something with sauce made in it. Will not be back for a third time.
