I have dined at Shoemakers several times since moving to the Lynchburg area and it just gets better! The staff is friendly and give excellent service, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I highly recommend going for the Chef's Special...of the day, always a treat.More

This is a regular business entertainment stop. Always a good experience and this one even more so. I asked if the chef would make a plant based dinner entree and, wow, crazy good. Thanks! I recommend adding a couple offerings ongoing.

We met friends here for dinner. We had just driven from Florida so afterwards this restaurant and bar was welcoming and a perfect ending to a long day. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food delicious and had a lovely presentation. The bartender...was “spot on” with my drink request. The COVID-19 mandates for VA were utilized.More

We had a great experience. The fish of the day was wonderful and the cream brûlée was the best! Expensive but good.

For a special occasion Shoemakers may be the place for you. The steaks that we got were excellent. Initially the service was slow, but with using multiple servers the service did get better. The bill lived up to the high priced reputation.

We have dined here several times and always enjoy the food and generally excellent service. This latest visit was no exception. The only reason for less than 5 stars is that the wines are marked up more than in most restaurants. Servings are large so...unless you are really hungry appetizers are not necessary.More

My family and I used to love dining here before the change in management. We went recently under the new management and it was awful! Seriously, the only thing that was good was the wine. I ordered a filet and lobster and what I got...was like baby food on top of my filet. They had taken the lobster out of the shell and mixed it with some horrible filling. Gross! My husband ordered the ribeye and it came out overcooked with a nasty brown gravy on top. We are seriously dissatisfied with the change in the quality of their food and will not be going back. We sent over 600 dollars for overpriced, nasty food.More

The chef at Shoemakers has created a wonderful menu in a semi-casual environment. We went back to the bar after dinner for an extra cocktail and enjoyed the exposed brick environment. We are planning on visiting again!

It's always a good visit. Great service and wonderful food. Portion sized are pretty good as well. They have private rooms for business meetings, etc.

I did not think Shoemakers could get better but the did. The quality of the ingredients is far better than the least time we dined here. It’s all locally sourced now. The steak was like butter. It’s an awesome place to eat.

Yes and they will do 'special' arrangements. All you need to do is communicate with them and they'll help you out.

Don't recall a children's menu. No posted dress code, but it's a nice place. I suggest business casual, or better. That said, I doubt they'll turn you aside because you're in jeans.
