Great drinks and food! Loved sitting on the rooftop even though it was a bit cold. The service was a little slow but everything was very good except the fried calamari was a bit undercooked.

Lexington has a fair number of excellent restaurants, likely due to the presence of two colleges in town, Washington & Lee and VMI. Juniper Lounge opened/ reopened during the pandemic. We tried it for the first time in April. The restaurant is in the Gin...Hotel (formerly the Robert E. Lee Hotel - we won't get into that) on the second floor. The hotel was built in the 1920s and renovated about 7 years ago. It is in excellent shape, but they have kept the original charm. Juniper has a decent sized restaurant inside with lots of wood. We ate on the extensive second-floor balcony along Main Street. The atmosphere was great and the vantage was also good for people watching. The food was excellent. We had bruschetta to start and the lamb, which was very well prepared. The service was friendly and relatively attentive. I say relatively because it took us a while to get our check, but that may have been a function of the waitress assuming (to some degree correctly) that we were just enjoying the fine evening.More

I had dinner at the Juniper Lounge on a visit to Lexington over President Day weekend 2021. Chose this place because others were already crowded due to Valentine’s Day and also because it had outdoor eating. The restaurant lounge is upstairs in a neat retro...hotel and had a nice looking drink menu. Food was good but menu was a little limited. Outdoors was chilly in 34 degree weather and only 3 of the 5 tables had heaters which made a big difference. But friendly waitstaff and dood serves quickly. Though if I go again it would probably be in warmer weather.More

Came here with a group of friends for my birthday and we all had a great time. Lovely little balcony area, good food, and we really liked the complimentary bread and butter. Our server was also really nice. Worth the price.

My husband and I recently decided to check out The Juniper Lounge (formerly Rocca, which we had pleasant experiences with!). It looks totally the same as it did when it was Rocca, which is fine because it's super clean and obviously, the terrace seating is...to die for. Our waitress was simply splendid. She was super kind, attentive, and overall 10/10. With that being said, the food left a lot to be desired. My husband had the lamb chops...zero seasoning, no taste, overcooked. I had the swordfish...super fishy, frozen on the inside. I had to actually send it back to be heated, something that I hate having to do!! When it came back, it was all I could do to finish it, which is why I didn't! Bummer. We did have the buffalo cauliflower appetizer, which was extremely simple but delish. Unfortunately, after a beer and a couple glasses of wine and $100 bill, we left unsatisfied. We won't be going back anytime soon. If we do, we are going for happy hour and playing it safe with burgers.More

Their food has been good for several months now, and they finally changed out the servers - what a delight! two weeks ago had the double lamb chops, grilled to perfection. This week had a stuffed pork chop, flavors very good, and cooked just right.

A delicious dining experience on a lovely second-floor balcony reminiscent of the French Quarter. The burger was gourmet as was the farm-to-table Cesar salad. Kudos to the chef for perfecting the classics! The highlight of our dining experience was the outstanding and friendly service providing...by Miranda. Not only did she offer wonderful meal suggestions, she also recommended an incredible hike. She’s the incarnation of southern hospitality!More

Waited l/2 hour before waitress came to table, another l/2 hr for appetizers. Cocktail had no ice. She forgot to bring bread. The fish dish was overcooked. Meal also was very expensive.More

We decided on a meal of appetizers - and were blown away. The mussels w/tomato sauce were out of this world. My wife has always been afraid to eat mussels - and she loved them. The roasted cauiflower the best ever. The brown butter cake...dessert was special. They were serving on the outdoor patio due to COVID. The service was decent. The time to get food was fine. The quality of the food was decent; though a couple of the appetizers were not the best.
