Nothing special considering the prices. We had the onion tart for appetizer and it was disappointing to say the least. The entrees weren't bad but they weren't great. For $30+ per dish I expected a lot more. We decided to skip the desert based on the quality of the other food.

Very attractive restaurant. Beautifully appointed and table settings. Great location: just a few yards from the Historic Court House and grounds. The menu is now very American. Steaks and seafood. Great service. The cocktails were prepared to perfection. They offer various rooms for dining. We ate upstairs by the window which gives a pleasant view of the town. The food... More

Another very good dinner at Palio of Leesburg. My family was visiting from Hawaii and we wanted to take them to a special dinner. The prie fixe is always a great deal. For an average of $55 you get an appetizer, salad, main course and dessert. I had the rustic mussels, wedge salad, veal chop and lava cake. It was... More

I sat at the bar for a glass of wine and their tomato bisque. The bartender was very knowledgeable and let me try a few to get the right pick. She really knew about the wines, where they came from, and how they would taste. I settled on the Brazin, which was quite tasty! The tomato bisque was very good.... More

Located in downtown Leesburg this is a quaint bulding and good ambiance. The menu is varied and has good selection of Italian cuisine. The sauces tend to be on the spice side that suits my taste. Service is good and friendly.

We've eaten here a number of times. Four of us ate there on Valentine's day because other places filled up first. Some dishes are quite good, but others just OK. Service is generally excellent. Two prix fixe, plus two entrees, one bottle & 2 glasses wine, plus we paid $25 corkage to bring a really nice bottle. Total with tip... More

We went to Palio for our Valentine's Day dinner last weekend. I had read other reviews that said it was a great place for a romantic dinner, cozy and quaint, so we made the reservation. We arrived early and sat at the (small) bar for a glass of wine before dinner. Everyone was nice and attentive, from the young ladies... More

Food was OK for the price. The crab stuffed mushrooms were good, but the sauce was gritty. Chicken Parm was below average. My wife had the mushroom crepe and it was the best thing we tasted that night, very good! I would like to see the wine glasses less clunky, it really lowered the value of the wine experience

I have had dinner at Palio's multiple times in the past (over 5 years) and thought our meals tonight were great. Mussels app was really good, dipping bread in it was fantastic. Two of us had filets, trout special was awesome and one scallop for our entrees. Desert -creme brûlée and cannoli were a great finish. I will be back.

Description
The award winning Palio Ristorante Italiano is a combination of three of the premier historic buildings in downtown Leesburg, Virginia. Palio provides Leesburg's newest venue for dining, entertaining, and banquet facilities. Palio has designed and built an establishment like no other in the Washington area, utilizing unique combinations of cherry wood, onyx, and antique mirrors and chandeliers. The design has been meticulously configured into the existing space in these historic buildings.

The theme of the Palio derives from the ancient horse race -beautiful and bold, risky and exciting, a feast for the eyes as well as the senses. Good music, a fine wine selection, house made pasta and bread prepared on site, and sourcing from local producers, can only be described as a beautiful experience- all presented in an historic setting that would be as comfortable in Italy as it is in Loudoun County.
